Triumph Hurricane XR75,one of the prettiest bikes ever made.
I'd like some of his drugs if he would share them.

...it took Honda a good couple of years before they realised what he had done to the Goldwing and then carried it on...

Although Triumph struggled to sell them first off...

Personally I like Vetter but yes his designs were a bit out there. His windjammer fairings are really (really) ugly but they seem to work and he sold a gazillion of them.

The XR75 production bike was really close to his design and i have an article someplace on it and the 650 twin he styled as well... However - the twin styling was not the problem was it... In fact it was the one thing they had right... Early trident styling however was a problem... Product of Ogle...

Forward thinking designs like this influence other designers but the lineage isnt always easy to see... (in this case thank goodness)

Really? I always thought they looked like a motorised orange, yellow and red banana. They look like the sort of motorcycle that car designers come up with. You know; not very motorcycley.

The only other pic of a Mystery Ship I've seen was the original release publicity bike - which was white with gold and yellow pinstriping same as the Vetter sponsored AMA Superbikes. That looked quite good....The colour of this one definitely doesn't suit it...

remembering the original writeup, i think the motors were supposed to be tweaked a bit too.

It be turbo charged mate. Hence my Z1R body work comment. Build yourself a Z1RTC. Much bettera!

What time was he ahead of as I don't see a lot of his aweful( yet probably practical ) fairings around, most get taken off to make equally horrible bobbers.
I'd have a Trabant over a Triumph Hurricane any day.

Groan - to the best of my knowledge the fairings were not sold here but heaps of old wings have them - she sold shed loads of them and by current standards they are ugly. This is the 70's

http://www.motherearthnews.com/biographies/craig-vetter-bio.aspx#axzz31lLC8fSK

Vetter’s Windjammer became the most popular motorcycle fairing ever made. Today, every motorcycle manufacturer produces a model with the motorcycle touring components Vetter invented.

Honda was influenced when they saw how much $$ he made modifying goldwings...

I suspect this was designed on a Tuesday after he took whatever drugs it was that created the OP bike.... (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/suicide_Tuesday)

Yep, that's what i remembered. Vetter and Pop's son were pictured with it - and all the motors were supposed to be built by Yosh.
And very obviously Non turbo too...I'd assume that given the low numbers built, if you wanted a turbo one, you could order it.
