Want to ride to the Little River Pub for food after work?
I've done it a couple of times recently and just thinking if you're not put off by the cold and dark then anyone want to join me?

I've done mostly Wednesday evenings but also may do a Tuesday or Thursday for whatever reason.

I'm going again Wednesday night (4th June 2014) unless it's blowing a gale or raining.

Expect to pass/leave from the Halswell Vets (393 Halswell Rd) at 6:30pm and will collect anyone waiting there.

Just heading straight out.
An expression of interest would be good if you want me to stick to that plan otherwise I'll assume I'm going alone and potentially go earlier, or later, or not at all depending upon my current state of procrastination.

Good ride tonight, stars are out, not much wind, not much traffic.
Thanks for the company and conversation Shoshoni.
Was somewhat tempted by Gebbies and the Bays on the way home but didn't want to be toooo late back.

Bugger, saw this too late.

Keep posting if you're going riding, if I can make it fit I'll come along.

Good idea. Hard pressed to clear work in time.

Whats the grub like at the pub? I've always parked up at the Cafe but it's getting very busy now :weep:

I like my food simple, steak, eggs, chips, tomato sauce.... about $16, no other extras for me but some guy did have a plate full of green stuff the other week.
Steak quite eatable too, not a rubbish cut like you get at so many other places.

I usually go to the first cafe if going for lunch but try getting there about 11:30am to beat the rush.

Might go again this week, weather looking okish.
If you can't make Halswell by 6:30ish then just come out in your own time and catch us at the pub. I was a little late myself last time anyway.

Yep, the rain has stopped, the sky is clear and wind is calm. Great conditions.

Why have I found this thread just now.

I'd be keen for next week if the weather is good.

Was a nice ride out thought I lost TA for a few minutes, I didn't know he was having technical difficulty's with all his heated gear.

Yea need to remember which plug goes where but seeing my riding buddies go straight to the fire at the pub while I don't feel the urgency makes it all worth while.

Thinking Tuesday evening (that's tomorrow) might be the go this week, rest of the weeks forecast not looking so good with bigger winds and rain.
Doesn't absolutely have to be the Little River Pub but it is nice, reasonably cheap and quiet... so long as we get there at a reasonable time before the occasional appearance of the local rugby club a bit later. Actually only seen them once as I was finishing up.

What were you thinking about tonight Steak, Eggs & Chips at Little River or Bacon Wrapped Sausages at the Valley Inn.

Now that's a thought, meet tonight Halswell as usual, Gebbies Pass, Bays, Tunnel, Valley Inn. I'd be up for that.

...are they dangerous or cannibals?...Ha ha.... they are many, take up tables by the fire, make a bit of noise and if you hadn't ordered yet I suspect you'd be in for a long wait.

Well it was warmer than expected tonight.
Took a while for the food to come out, place had people there but we were done and off home by 8:30pm.
Food was a little more expensive at the Valley Inn than the Little River Pub but nice all the same.

Time and location?

We've been doing.... leave from outside the Halswell Vets (393 Halswell Rd) at 6:30pm.
Been slightly late a couple of times and 10 minutes early arriving but waited until 6:30pm to depart the other time(s).

3 of us out tonight and a beautiful night it was too.
We waited an extra 10 minutes for EJK but no sign of him so on we went.

That little Trail Stand for propping up ADV bikes we were talking about is mentioned on remotemoto.com (http://www.remotemoto.com/articles/enduro-star-ts2-trail-stand/)

Weather looking good for the next couple of evenings, I'm feeling like I want to go again.
Tuesday night or Wednesday night, what say you?

Note: Do not confuse this thread with the Normal Summery WNR one.

Should be nice enough out Wednesday tea time.... thinking I might head to Little River again.
First 'in the dark' ride for the 'non daylight saving' season.

Two of us now and we are meeting at 5pm outside the Halswell Vets.

Not used to judging rush hour traffic so that will be my excuse for being either way early or more likely late.:bs:;)

Well that was good, wasn't as bad as I expected getting to the Halswell Vets at 5pm. Nice to be eating tea at tea time and I had time to visit a mate on the way back. Could almost squeeze in the Western Valley another time with the earlier start, maybe I'll drop this thread and start up again in the ADV one.
