Well last year it was December the 11th. I remember that fateful day well.
Its run by the Woodville Lions if that helps any

It's normally the second weekend of December, we'll be going again this year.

Garry H, what was fateful about it last year?

Just a slightly second hand bike and broken arm. Not on the ride itself but the ride home afterwards.

Thanks guys Maybe they havent set a date yet. I went last year but want to stay for the feed and a few beers afterwards. Accomodation is pretty tight though. Cheers Gonzo

Seeing I'm the first South Islander to post, I take it this ride's somewhere on the North Island. Right?

Also I've never heard of those beach names and they do sound North Islandish.

Yeah - starts kind of near Levin and crosses through all the wind turbines near Palmy.

Last year was awesome - I'd def be keen again this year too.

Didn't realise you were there last year.

The feed is great...normally a BBQ cookup with crayfish for around $10.

We've been the last couple of years, the first year we tented and the second we rented a house, got the house booked again this year too.

Woah - I didn't realise there was crayfish there!!! I didn't stay the night maybe that's why we didn't bump into each other. (You and me I mean rather than me and the crayfish.) I came with StoneChucker and VTWIN.

I remember seeing SC at the last gas stop outside that pub.

We should get a KBer crew there this year and party till the wee small hours. Not only do they put on a good feed but the booze is cheap and they pull out the karaoke later in the night.

Presumably "staying" involves canvas and long starlight treks to the pisser?

will definitely stay the night as the feed was awsome, we lit the fire on the beach for those like us dislike Karaoke.
Good campground.

Had a great time last year.
Camped with Pickle and the crew.

Think they will let ya do burnouts in the pub again???

I you havent done it before...
DO IT!! Its a great ride.
And camping by the beach with a view like none other is outstanding!

I think a KB crew would the the go.

i haven't done it since i first started riding... i will look closer to the time to see but, at this stage i am keen.

Hey sparky.. you keen to carry all gear again, just like the Kiwi??

I'll probably do it partly because it seems like a great ride and partly to try riding in convoy, which i have never done before. Some years ago I was staying at Himatangi and saw all these bikes congregating and then all taking off together and i thought then " shit that's cool " :woohoo:

There's a group meeting at BP in Mana/Paramata at 8am and leaving there at 8:15.
We're still going, despite the weather.
It's not raining in Newlands at the moment but it is looking a bit grim up north.
See you there at 8am

Mrs H and I yesterday said "Bugger the forecast!" (or something similar) and went riding anyway. What a stunner in the Wairarapa. Had the place to ourselves. Bumped into a few Coast to Coasters on our way back from Greytown.

And today too. Up and back to Palmerston North for something to eat. Is it just the conspiracy theorist in me, or has ANZA stopped selling Goldwings? (not that I want to buy one, mind). I haven't seen any there for a while. I just noted that something was missing and only figured today what that was.

Anyhoo, apart from a heavy shower between Shannon and Levin on the way home, it was a cracking good ride. 25 degrees most of the way.
