THAT would make sense, as it WAS set up specifically so the Comm could have ALL correspondence coming and going from a single source, and not fill his personal email account with THOUSANDS of emails ( as you know, Mr Nobody ) Genius

All good Greg,

Are you able to release a statement somewhere advising all concerned,Which proposed rulechanges you have forwarded to the board for ratification,I realise they must have been a bit of a nightmare to work through in the state they were submitted,But despite my clear intention to have nothing to do with them,As the board were unable to appoint a replacement in a reasonable time frame,I was forced to do them at the very last minute as nobody had attended to them.

Kevin Goddard told me that YOSHIMURA engine case guards will not be acceptable as they are due to a new rule change for them, or at least that is what I am sure he said anyway, but did offer me a set that he brings in

Yea,

Whatever,Thats probably cause they were badly worded due to them being left unattended to until the last minute for the reason I mentioned earlier in the thread,Isn't he part of the "Standing Fools,Oops I mean rules committee" that is suppose to work with the commissioner ensuring the rules are enforceable and clear up areas with issues like the one you mention,Actually it was all cleared up last year after much toing and froing,Until he saw better than to ratify them despite everybody else being happy,Pretty sure you will find the proposed rule allows for heavy duty engine cases and I changed the suggested material's for covers to allow plastic at his request,So he could sell his GB Racing covers!!!!

Some of that looks a bit libelous, implying impropriety by an MNZ board member.

Libelous?

Wasn't implying any such thing,More the fact that despite our rule being worded the same as MA's where the GB covers are allowed,We had to reword ours to mean the same thing,You can take out of it what you will.

See, theres a problem right there. If the rule now says "plastic", a rivet-counter could make a case for dodgy fibreglass / carbon fibre ones, as they are "fibre reinforced plastics" by definition :( Any old git with a lock-up could churn 'em out

Reducing the number of rounds to 4 would be excellent. Many road racers struggle to afford to race so many rounds, if they are honest with themselves. AND, if they are honest to their creditors who many so often regard as a bank, not charging interest.

It would also reduce the cost to sponsors and downtime from work for so many people

Piss of ya pussy, and you are the one always complaining abut your wording " Dumbing down the sport" If you do not want to spend some of your companies profit going, DONT, stay home them.

Yes indeed and that's how it should remain but without a double header last round. Note that Denmark, a country with a strong economy only has 3 rounds, 6 races. Perhaps they are more realistic

My salient points remain how many road racers are in denial about what they can afford and how much they lean on everyone else. We ourselves have a record of putting a LOT into the sport, in case you hadn't noticed. Perhaps by many it has been taken too much for granted and regarded as automatic.
Too many with champagne tastes and a beer income, expecting that others will pay as of right. A little realism doesnt go amiss.

So are you also going to start naming names of who owes you money again like you have in the past on here? Stop trying to be MR Perfect and concentrate on your job man, gets rather boring reading your letters to the editor just like your father did

I say ban any Suspension experts from the race track to keep the riders costs down and to make it fairer for the ones that cannot get any help there any way as god is to busy making money and to save the contracted importers from having to pay them silly money which they could then put into more riders instead, now were getting some where.

John Ross did very well with out one there

So you attended all rounds of the Nationals helping people? For me personally I helped a lot of people at my direct cost, at every single round.

I expressed an opinion as you have done, mores the pity that it wasnt taken on board with some degree of graciousness. We all want more more more but who pays? And can everyone get the time off / justify the time away? Thats what I was driving at without need for anyone to get bitter and twisted or personal.

Define paid Shaun? hope this clears it up

I commentated at 17 meetings last year and got a ticket and a programme into each
1 I got enough to run my van to and from, inc RUC and a free lunch,
For five of them I got about 80% of travel expenses only, no accomadation etc, half the time lunch was laid on, and one gave me a couple of hundy as well.
For six of them combined I got a voucher for $30 of a t shirt, and lunch at each meeting.
For one I got a t-shirt
For one I got approx 1/3 of travel cost, some beers and some food and a bed
For one I got a ticket in for my partner.
The others nada.

To be fair some meetings I've been offered accom as well but being a bedwetter prefer to stay outside.
the closest track to me is a little over two hours and spent approx 15 lost days of work I could've been earning a buck, but I look at this as my choice and if anyone who resents me getting a dollar I don't mind if i live rent free in their Head.

On occasions it may be that way but I enjoy what I do. There are times when a little more sustanance would be good, standing on a balcony all day in the hot sun with nout more than tap water is a bit tough, sounds like a winge but depending on how I travel don't often have a chilly bin with me, or if I'm there for a couple of days it's hard to keep a chilly bin serviced too (not talking beer here)
hey I put in a lot less than a lot of people, my meeting usually starts when i get there and finishes when prizegiving is over, there are so many people with many hours input before, during and after.

i'm always at the bar afterwards with a spare hand for another cup of tea...

...just another volunteer...with an absolute love of what we are, what we do, and always at risk of, somehow in our 2 degrees of separation, being mistaken for something other than what we are...our miniscule sport would not exist if it wasn't for people with a lot to do, giving their time away...for love...for no apparent reason other than to be vilified by some cunt that probably has the time, but not the commitment...not directed at you TT winner, just seemed a good time to draw attention...

There seem to be people, who are more concerned with what everyone else is doing than what they themselves are doing.

Seem cocked up to me.

Who cares if Mr Ross paid a suspension tech to be there? You looking to apply for the job next year Shaun?

About the only thing I intend to do next year, that I haven't in the past, is try and keep Spyda and his offsider hydrated throughout the day. Last time I went up to the commentary box I did take a beer for him, but there was a hold up on track so I waited longer than I expected and drunk it for him too...in front of him, because I'm a cunt.
