Love all the belt driven power tools, with the drives mounted to the rafters.

very common - one steam mill could power an entire shop.
the lathe on the far left was originally foot powered (think singer sewing machine) but converted to the overhead layshaft. (foot pedal and flywheels still visible)
no fucking chuck guards or emergency stops round here boy!

tell him he's dreaming, the only thing common with a henderson is two wheels and four cylinders, the bike in the front is an FN looks pre 1907, they statred life as a 360cc then went to 440cc.
other bike looks like a minerva but very hard to identify bikes that early

you're talking shit, they never put the windows in the crankcase till 1906, think you'll find the one in wiki is an 06 as they also started mounting the oil pump on the right side of the tank for the first time in 06, can't see the left side to see whether it has windows in the cases.
it's either 06 or 07 as in 08 they changed the front forks side plate from the upside down L shape to more like a T shape.

I stand corrected. They also mention in this link ... the fin-less heads on the 1905 model ..
Judging by this link ... it was the 1906 model

Best thing that could happen to the cunt.
A lot of the old engineers I knew as a kid had fingers missing, mostly because of those flat belts. Didn't slow them down much that I noticed.
Molasses. In the workshop of a friend of my fathers I remember getting fed molasses on toast for lunch, cooked over the pot-belly in the middle of the shop. The molasses came from a gallon tin under a bench, it was used to dress those leather belts.
And to feed the local nippers.

When I did my apprenticeship over 40 years ago the foreman smoked Erinmore Flake in a pipe. I can still smell it like it was yesterday.
And diesel exhaust rather than l'espirit but still good.
