First time at Manfield and a little nervous at first. Got to Fielding saturday night and stayed at the Race track motel a few metres from the track. Registered 8.30 sunday morning in the intermediate group and waited for the briefing with anticipation. the weather fantastic, sunny and little wind. About 30 bikes in the novice 15 in the intermediate an 15 in the experienced group. After the briefing we were led out onto the track one by one for five laps of the track. At first the track seemed a little rough and bumpy in places but as the day went i just forgot about the condition of the track and had a blast. On hand for help we had Ray Clee,he gave me a lot of advice about bike and tyre set up and how to get around the track quicker. After going out on the track for 2 sessions i started to relax and really enjoy throwing my K5 around. I found i was getting faster and faster as the day went on and riding as fast as i could go with the others on the track was such a blast!!! The grins on our faces got bigger and bigger as we got more confident to take corners faster and struggled to keep the front wheel on the ground. I was very impressed at the way the K5 handled itself and it was great to learn so much about my bike in such a short time. I managed 5 sessions in all and even though i was a little buggered i really would have loved to have gone out again. Every body i talked to had a great time and if you want to get to really know your bike and to improve your riding Track days are a must. Well done Kiwi Rider for organising a very well run event!! Will be at the next one with bells on.

Its amazing how far many had travelled to come to the event.
The guy from Auckland with the white SP1 basic racer was at this one and the last one as well.
Heaps of bikes up from Wellington with some dissapointed they couldn't get a ride. Don't think anyone entered on the day.
Only problem is these things become addictive and you start spending all your spare cash on tyres, entry fees, gas :devil2:

I know Chris Boyle entered on the day, he was the guy with the Happy Happy Joy Joy leathers. Used to codrive for Joe McAndrew and has just come back from some crazy adventure on a replica vintage bike - a Contal?
