Hmmm, time for an update...
To date I've manged to fit some rearsets, and fit new rear shocks...motor has a 34mm Keihen flatslide carb hanging off it, but this might need (errr will need) a bit more development. And today just scored a front end off a Yamaha RX125 for $20!!

Those carbs are practically made for the MB but the 34mm version is too big unless you're going to make MEGA horsepower. 32mm should see you right or even a 28mm if you are only looking at say 20hp(rear wheel). I've actually had someone who knows what they're doing look into that sort of thing for me. To use the 34mm carb you would also need a 6-petal reed valve, ideally!

From memory of racing my old 125T, I experimented with a few different cams, my advice is to not go to OTT as they lose what little low-end they have and just become like a 50cc screamer.

I also raced an H-100 back in the old days. Dunno if you guys do it, but an MB-5 6-speed basically slots straight in. AFAIK the H-100 and MB100 cases are virtually the same (internally).
However,...for some reason I lost my neutral, but then didn't worry about it as I'd never miss a gear then ;)

All the hot H100's in CHCH run 6-speeders and yes Gav if your one has not got a 6-speeder it's not a hot one :crybaby: even if it does here a 34mm carb

:niceone: Gav this is a much better size and with it being downdraft you wouldn't have the problems with the float height Dangerous was having with his MB100
Because the sidedraft carb was on so much of a angle the float height was set so low to stop fuel running down the inlet port that at full noise it was empting the float bowl. :argh:

OK, looks like I hit a snag. Had RX125 front end at work along with my MB100 front end. Managed to press out the MB stem, but managed to bend the RX stem, mechanic sort of said "ohh err", and buggered off and left it! He also mentioned that welding the MB stem to the RX triple clamps wasnt really going to work, would need to be set up in a jig or something and had to be a 100% true, blah blah blah....
Also the MB motor, so far havent managed to track down a better gear box, and looks like I'm going to be stuck with the standard 4 speed box.
So what are my options, wait and hope something turns up or buy another engine, then I need a better front end, so look for another rolling chassis, maybe? Suddenly, I'm looking for another complete bike!
Still, things like carbs, body work, shocks, handle bars etc can probably be used on another project.
So what do I do? What front end do other MB100 bucket racers use?
Do I try and find a more suitable rolling chassis (on 17" rims)?
Or do I look for something like a Suzuki GP100 and start again? Or look around and buy a ready to race bucket? Anyone got anything out there that I might be interested in?
cheers :2thumbsup
