Poor old Winnie, he really has lost the plot.
Time he retired methinks, before he makes
a further dick of himself.

An opinion piece written by a journalist who was having an affair with a certain other famous politician??? And no direct quotes of Winstons speech???
I'm all for sharing our country with the right people but Winston has a good record for doing his research and being accurate with numbers before he opens his mouth.
I think he does raise a valid point there and in an aging population this is also extra strain on healthcare and resthomes etc...

It gets him voted in every election. Whether its bollocks or not doesn't matter, Winston gets voted in, and its worked for him for years.
Is he NZs most successful Politician?
Personally I think he is a bit of a dick, but he sure knows a thing or two about job retention.

Yes, perhaps but lately he seems to be coming up with all sorts of ridiculous claims like the one about the Aratere ferry having a broken engine and his anti Asian speeches. I used to have quite a bit of time for him but I want to hear what constructive policies and views his party has for us and not his verbal diarrhea. It's not helping his cause.

I have never Liked Winston as I see him as a very good con man. He has kept himself very alive being this way, but there is no one else leading any other party that I will give my vote too so I think it will be going too Winston Seriously as he really is the only party fuker doing anything for the old folk that built this dam country for us all and paid taxes all there lives.

Nope. In the 2008 election Peters lost his Tauranga seat and New Zealand First had no MPs in Parliament at all.
To everyone's surprise NZF polled 6.6% in the 2011 election and he rentered Parliament. Personally I think we'd be much better off without him.

Winston knows he's not going to get soo much of the protest vote this election.
So he's going back to his core voters - Greypower.:nya:

With or without him ... does it really make very much tangible difference to anything?

Winston is the leader of the Talkback Radio Party. He preys on the fears of those who feel at risk or oppressed by what they fear unprincipled regulators may do to them. That's why Grey Power loves him.

He is very amusing to me. Much more so when people take him seriously.
And we only hear from him for three or so months every three years (unlike Donkey or Silent) so that's a boon.

They should not be permitted to be in Parliament post age 65. 65 is retirement age, if you have not made your political career and earned your pension (a entire subject matter in itself) then f-off.

Are you worried they are taking jobs away from young folk...? Or is that just the most pathetic anti Winston rant ever.
Peters probably saved this naïve nation with the winebox inquiry. Although he got shafted on that one hopefully it opened the eyes of our tax inspectors and prevented us getting fleeced completely in following years...
