Bought some.
Thanks for posting.
I don't know about these specific ones but I have had Bison stuff before.
Very rugged, but if you buy some check the stitching there will be loose strands. hit them with a lighter before they become a problem.
They will be heavy, but unlike the cheaper stuff will not get heavier as the get wetter and will be harder to melt.

The Bison stuff we used to have on the forecourt at the service station I worked at (this may hold no relation to the product for sale) :
+ very waterproof
+ very windproof
+ Good storm cuffs
+ generous when leaning forward. (long back in the jacket, generous seat).
+ don't hold water / get heavier as they get wetter.
+ surprisingly resistant to oil stains.

- heavy when dry. Not practical for daily wear.
- Jacket probably won't fit under your seat.
- Hi Vis shows marks easily.
- Unless they are tight in the thighs they are very saggy in the bum when upright.

I don't normally wear hi vis but to get gear of this quality, both top and bottom for under $72 shipped?
I splashed out and bought a spare pair in the size down in case I succeed in getting back to last summers weight some time soon.

To be fair the shipping is the same for my three items as one.

$22 delivered for pants or $57 for a jacket is blardy cheap if they are as good as the ones I used to use.

Rain suits are the greatest thing since sliced bread for keeping dry with something from under the seat.
They are not what I would call hard wearing and will leak given enough saddle time.
Assuming they are the same quality as 10 years ago these would take a lot of punishment to leak. According to the prescribed standard, Water column: mm H20:3000mm we are taliking you expect to see an ark come past.

So more for that day you decide to go to work or Taupo anyway in spite of a massive storm.:headbang:

Here is the catalog I had been eying up... at full price.

Good job OP. Was gonna post this up, too.

I've spent more money because of 1 day in the last month than in the last year since I discovered it. No complaints at all, top notch stuff at bargain basement price. Bought a Samsung CCTV system which rattled me, significant outlay, and I'm stoked with it. Amazing bit of kit. Missus caught me having a piddle in the rain at 11pm last night. Oh the shame:Oi:

Bison Hi Vis is back on one day.
$15 for a pair of over trou, cant go wrong.
I have used my a lot and never found them wanting. I bought 2 expecting them to not last a whole winter. Still on the first pair... they need a wash but are pretty waterproof still.

They may be cheap but they are waterproof and seem to be fairly resistant to a hot exhaust.
I have seen better, but not for less than $100, and not enough better to pay an extra $85

Dunno. Bro in law gave them to me. But picking around 150-200.
Bonus is they are well made for hard work, and handle rain at speed.
Breath well, and the Hi vis is placed in lower leg, so it dosn't give you headaches via your mirrors.
Engineer shops like Bay engineers or Blackwood Paykels sell excellent gear at good prices if you do the research.

I was in the market for black braces of high strength and well made.
Paykeles sell "Clogger", built for the forestry industry. awesome gear, and only $40:woohoo:

Your comments set the standard you would pay more for.
My $15 bisons have not leaked.
My very expensive ones did.

I would pay more for a lighter fabric with the same water and heat resistance.
I would pay more for something that did not mark as easily.
But I have yet to see more waterproof.

i agree with you that a 15 dollar pair of leggings that dont leak are much better value than a pair of 200 leggings that dont leak. But when i go int o a shop and see a pair of line 7 leggings and pair of legging s that i dont know how they perform, i will go line 7 thank you(example)

Thanks for that. I used to buy the Oxford brand braces, they used to be OK. The last pair I bought were crap: the elastic had very little stretch, the piece in the middle of the back that used to be leather had changed to plastic, and the clips just fell apart. I can see that they would have brought joy to the accountant who was responsible for this cunning plan to save money, but the product is now just rubbish.

They do seem expensive but I would probably buy those Cloggers even if the only colour choice was orange.

I thought they were crap too, so went with John Deere braces from amazon...The bees knees mate. Superbly made and loads of stretch, real leather and clips that'll withstand the rigours of climbing in and out of me tractor! :)

I am always impressed with John Deere products, and I used to think they just made tractors.....
if they built motorbikes they would be built tough and green

I have some carhart ones. Same positive points. $49 ice delivery from Uncle Sam. ex eBay. 3-5 days delivery.

Why carhart when there are cheaper ones? Because of the 57" length.
Much less wedgie. At 6'4" and 140kg they are nearly fully extended where all the other brands would be a little snug fully extended and too tight to lean forward.

Always quality, practicality, price in that order till I cant afford it - then I go with cheap and find out what I was missing or go without.

Don't know about Line 7 gear, Bison, John Deere, Torpedo have they maintained their quality recently?
They may have deteriorated since you brought them...... become cheap arse=wet arse and that's one thing I don't need while riding.

I need to consult Mr Google to see whats available

Got some cheap gear from a short term retailer that has opened on Rosebank Rd in Avondale dorkland. Water tight so far and look to be well made. Jacket and trou for $20 each. Can't get cheaper than that.

thanks, often wondered if I would get wetter on the inside than the outside in PVC.

I need the gear to be TRANSIT APPROVED as well and Night Vision approved - so I can use it at work.

I will look at those suggested in this thread and I will also check out the Tornado range - I have had their 4 in 1 jacket for a few years and its internal fleece lined Hi Vis jacket been worn every day at work for approx 5+ years

I want to be able to store it away and when I get it out the internal waterproofing hasn't flaked/fallen off or become damaged/cracked

Bought my waterproofs with my leathers back in Europe. Brand of both is RICHA (Belgian company as far as I know). Love both the leathers and the waterproofs. Great comfort and durability and they do exactly what it says on the box.
