Been having a think about bringing in a container or two of aftermarket fairings for various makes and years of bikes (specifically sport bikes, YZF, CBR, ZXR, GSXR), but wondering if theres enough demand for them.. I've found personally that I can't find any fairings for my 250RR and I have to buy from overseas. Nor do I see anyone on TradeMe with a store for fairings. If there is anyone you've seen selling fairings with what you think is a good price, let me know
If you'd like to see a bigger market for fairings in NZ, what would you be looking for?
Blank unpainted fairings? Painted fairings with various liveries? Race fairings?
Let me know what you'd like to see and I'll take it into consideration.

If you look at what is available on ebay for very little money (probably low quality) I would doubt there is much to be made in importing fairings. I had a few leftover from when I made them for GSXR and CBR early models...literally could not give them away....ended up smashing them with an axe and throwing in bin

Yeah, giving it a big think through right now, found a nz based site that does them on a buy on a order basis which leads me to believe that there most likely isn't enough demand for them to bother bringing in a significant amount.

All of the Chinese made fairings are rubbish, you would only be importing headaches.

I reckon. Fine for an owner because the product is cheap and they know that there will be issues fitting and fucking about. But if you are a quasi business* doing this then you run into a world of hurt pretty quickly. Plus GST and duty and general government fuckwittery. Plus you would get get punters going "but it is the same product as X and I can get it landed for $Y you should be cheaper".
How to make a little money in the motorcycle business you say? Start with a lot of money and take it from there.
