So just thought i'd post about my experience to help out others.
I brought an Injection mold fairing kit from these guys:
http://www.aliexpress.com/store/1101044
they advertised a "perfect fit" kit suitable for all 848,1098 and 1198 models
price was right so after a few queries i ordered the kit.
It arrived and fitted up ok with some notable exceptions, the passenger seat cover did not fit into the cut out and there was no allowance for the Traction control unit as fitted to the 1198s
I had asked if this was a true fit for my bike, specifying the year and model.
So after supplying photos of how their kit was faulty and how the original looked they promised to re-make the tail piece correctly and send me a replacement part.....
I waited
Sent emails asking what was going on, i usually got replies....
After 6 months i finally got fobbed off, so buyer beware, these clowns are only interested in your money, their stuff kind of fits and hey i'm not so naive that i expect it to look and fit as well as the factory stuff, but to promise you'll fix a problem, then stuff the customer around for 6 months, well it's more than a little rude i feel.

Really seems these knock off fairings are hit and miss depending on which company you deal with.
Are you able to post up some pics showing the fitment on your bike and where the issue occurs?

like i said in my post, i'm not expecting factory quality from these Chinese turkeys, what my point is here, if anybody else does decide to deal with the same aforementioned turkeys, they should be wary of the run around... or use this info and go somewhere else

Really seems these knock off fairings are hit and miss depending on which company you deal with. No, they're all rubbish... nobody is yet to supply photos of a kit that fitting correctly on every panel. I've yet to see a tail fairing fit correctly... why tail fairings are the worst, I do not know! Some people have low standards and find this product is acceptable to them, which is the only reason all reviews aren't harsh.

I would consider it for my track bike because it would be cheaper than even fibreglass if it was chucked up the road.
but they are all road specific I think.
I've actually got a set of fairings that fit a VFR400 (they are not VFR fairings just on a VFR that I had) which I am going to put on tardme.

I was asking as I have been tossing up whether or not to buy some for myself you cock.
If your not going to put up pics showing your issue no skin off my nose.

yep thats fair enough, why is it so hard for these guys to get it right, I have seen after market race fairings for my ZX10 that look to fit pretty decent from the likes of hot bodies. But factory fairings cost thousands which I would hope would fit perfect but still seems crazy

ok so now i'm front of my own pc here's the back tail where it doesn't fit around the rear seat
298691
I actually cut the edge off their cover panel to get it in there
The rest of the kit is surprisingly good, fitted up quite well and hasn't melted yet
Really it's the cheapest option if you want cheap insurance, stop you worrying about stone chips from your mates in front of you, gravel, grit etc.
I have seen race kits made by the chinese too
It's the injection molded type
My beef is these guys said they'd remake it, then 6 months later changed their mind

Thought the same myself when a bloke replys with a post including "pic/cock/skin/nose and issues" in a simple bodywork thread i wouldnt have encouraged him anymore.

Dont worry about this cocks comments. He is not known for actually having any knowledge or experience about motorbikes. He certainly does not own a rideable one. Thanks for the pick

Did you do a search around on a few forums before you brought them? Quite alot of good info out there now on what sellers to avoid and which ones are alright. Auctmarts, Neverland-USA and Divinity Motor are the 3 sellers most communities are recommending. Personally I would never buy anything for Aliexpress, but I know alot of people that swear by them.
I wouldn't even be to worried about that gap, for the price you paid I would probably expect it.
I have a set of busa fairings on order at the moment. Not expecting them to be 100% showbike quallity but for 650 bucks its better than buying unpainted ones them having to fork out for the paint. Plenty of bikes out there with chinese parts on them

That gap wasn't really the issue, it was just the first relevant photo i found
Their seat cover wouldn't fit tin there at all though, i had to trim a fair bit off the edges of that and then it just looked ugly and in need of repainting.
The real issue that i kept emailing them about was i have an 1198s, with traction control, the unit for which fits under the pillion seat, hence the two castings for the tail piece are different. They still deny this is the case even after i supplied pictures.
Interesting you mentioned Auctmarts as i've got fairing blades from them before, i queried the Auctmarts guy on eBay about their facebook page, he swore blind that it wasn't him on facebook but an imposter...
Really though, how many companies can there be in China doing this, surely it's one or two and everybody we deal with just buys it off them

What I don't get is you have an 1198S and you're cheaping out on fairings..... given its cost I would have thought you would have some made by your wee man in Italy, hand hammered out of titanium sheet and with gold and platinum fittings.

Ali like other sites aren't the suppliers, a million traders sit behind them and pay them a cut in the same way that you don't buy from trademe.
And yeah some pretty sanctimonious replies from some (opinion or experience is fine) of the other guys here.

Totally knocks the chances of a local business making a living from fibreglass fairings these days. That said fibreglass guys are always weird. Something to do with the secluded hours sanding bucks and the solvents.
