Got home from work unusually early today. The landline rang and the following conversation took place.....

"Hello is this [my name]?"

Yes it is, how can I help you?

"I am [name], I am calling on behalf of [candidates name] the Labour candidate for [constituency]. Are you by any chance a Labour supporter?"

No

"oh........well.........what about [my wife's name]?"

No, actually she is completely disinterested in politics, but I am very interested.

"oh........well......thank you...." CLICK

Clearly Labour have aced the whole persuading people about their ideas thing. With this strategy they will win no problem.

You twit - they were about to offer you the Labour party Leaders role... Sheesh....

It was a quick survey dummy - they're collecting data on the number of labour voters, not trying to sway rabid mouth breathing National twits.

It's a simple numbers thing. If you answered "yes" they would have targeted you on polling day, calling you to make sure you voted. They co-ordinate large numbers of labour supporters into teams to make these survey calls.

dummy? what a personable individual you are.

Why pray tell could they not tell me the purpose of their call? Do they deduce from my first response that I am a rabid mouth breathing National twit? (perhaps like you?) Once again, with that approach, they are sure to win...not! The lack of information does not persuade me to take Labour any more seriously.

Not that its any of your business but I am no National supporter either.

Thank you. It would be useful for them to explain its a survey.

See how its done Mr. Gayner?

It was probably being run on behalf of Grant Robertson, to assess attitudes to ditching Cunners ahead of the election.

Don't you want a cute little moa running around as a pet?

Only labour can make this happen!

Why don't they pay any attention to Roy Bogans polls?

I'm stunned that they have fallen hook, line, sinker and entire boat, into the "McCully has to resign" trap.

Fuck me. They now want him to have a convenient excuse to stand down in the East Cost Gays electorate? Gift the seat to the Conservative nutcase and coat-tail an extra twit into the Wellytown Circular Wind Tunnel.

They genuinely are dumber than a bag of hammers.

Has no one else seen the irony that it's a Mallard that wants to bring back the Moa!

I'll vote for him if he offers free Moa beer for three years.

The only time we hear from our local polly is Election year - last time she was told to F-off.

You'd make a great Labour Candidate.
