Hey people - I lost a bit of touch with the 250/production class separation/rules etc..... sounds like a young aussie set a record in one class and then set a new record on the same bike in the other class.....
What is the difference between the classes? anyone know the lap record for it/them??
cheers

don't be so fucking lazy, get on the interweb yaself and find out, or if you're a real coach you'f have you student checking out the rules and mylaps themselves as that's all part of the racing scene...

Apparently you can do whatever you like,Unfortunately like us,You won't want to go down the slippery slope required to achieve a 22,Lachlan had the record,First time ever at Manfeild at a 1.23.8 and the Grant Ramage lowered it to 1,23.5,Thats probably as good as you can expect on a legal machine.

Rodger that - one of our guys did a 1:26.2 today - 3rd time at many on a std 250 still has the pillion seat, road fairings etc. Pretty happy with that, Rogan Chandler did a 1:25.99 chasing him on a RG150 which was also quick for winter!

Its a 09 carby - he did put a end can on it last round which apparently made a big difference.

Funny how that works aye,
In reality,With standard jetting there was only .1 of a horsepower increase between standard muffler and a slip on,There are some good gains to be made with jetting etc that are legal,Tell him to contact me when he's ready,If he's interested.

Totally agree Billy.
All an end can does is make it sound better and save a few kilos.
Regan is going faster due to the coaching mostly.....
Oh, also Chappy, talk to me on Monday about the records as I actually raced in the Nationals in 250 Production. I will fill you in on all......
We won't start here or else this will be another 30 page thread! ;)
I recommend also talking to Billy when Regan has developed his riding as far as you can take it....
Fiberglass and a few other things will help too.
Vic Club committee are quite impressed at the work CSS has done with the 2 Scholarship riders.

Before the thread decends further into the darkness (that was this years nationals)..
The good thing about yesterday's efforts was the fact that these were the fastest times we have seen from our development guys in winter conditions for a long time....
I'd like to say well done Chappy (and Lee) and a big thumbs up to the CSS VMCC programme.
We have two really determined racers coming through this year.
And I'd also like to thank all of those people that have supported the scholarship programme via purchasing raffle tickets and more importantly supplying prizes.
Note worthy, Bernie, Steve and Robert for making their time available for our new& junior riders via the lunch time sessions. They have been great and everyone has taken something away with them.
In terms of the 250 rules and what can be modified...

Yip,
No real point revisiting that event anyways,Its clear MNZ have no intention of enforcing any rules anyway,I was more pointing Neil in the direction of whats achievable with their machine so they don't go chasing rainbows,Good work again Neil and Lee,You have clearly made a difference to the scholarship program

Cheers fella, yep that's what we want - the good knowledge and correct mods allowed. Regan is aiming for nats next year on this bike so we need it to be sorted to the legal level!!

Na, I was referring to the friction the pegs dragging on the ground causes.....
I know of a place where you can learn about this stuff......

Thanks for the support fulla's and everyone is right, Chappy and the team at CSS are doing a fantastic job and I'm positive I wouldn't be where I am at the moment without their help.
Sounds like there are plenty of bits to work on to get ready for nationals and plenty of time to be made up if I wanna be up near the front... but should make for a wicked challenge :2thumbsup
Billy have you got a phone number or email I can contact you on? I've lost your number after changing phones at some point

That's where the pipe came from and someone dyno'd the difference in power with a full system... which i don't think we are allowed to run anyway but its certainly interesting to see.
