The Cape to Cape is back for 2014. It will be over Labour weekend, starting at Cape Egmont and finishing at East Cape. See here for details. http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=888538&page=30

Sounds good - was planning a North Island trip and the cape to cape idea fits really well at the right time of the year - sounds like west to east (south to north?) which suits too. Still trying to get access round Cape Palliser for the way up and then some neat tracks across to Egmont.
Count me in

Great stuff. I'm not sure about Cape Palliser. I understood it was pretty well closed up to through traffic.
Let me know if you want any info on tracks and roads up this way.
What are you riding ?

Hi - a 690 - does your route take in the 42 traverse? If not I'll do it on my way over to Egmont.

No, the C2C doesn't do the 42nd. It is aimed as a big bike LONG distance ride. Depending on stops etc, 500km is a 10 to 12 hour ride.
The 42nd is a good ride. There are some other tracks and roads in that area as we'll.

Start / meeting point is at Cape Egmont on Cape road. Haven't set a start time but it was around 7am last year for a 7.30 getaway.

That looks like fun
