I have to ask , why the hell would anyone stand on the outside of a corner like that ?.

Back in the day of 600Hp turboed rally cars I went to watch a stage of the NZ rally at Woodhill. I stood on the inside of the corner while quite a few stood on the outside. The top guys like Mikkola & Vatanen etc came through no sweat , then Reg Cook appeared . Instantly you knew he was going way to fast , he clouted a few as he left the road, I think someone got a broken leg, lucky no one was killed .

Seems to me the spectators are the insane ones
