Im wanting to build a bike trailer suitable for carrying 3 full fairing racebikes.
The issue is width with not wanting them to rub obviously,
Anyone out there have a drawing or specs that they have built a similar trailer to this?
Wanting to have a removable canvas cover so it can be inclosed but fully open for ease of loading, but that caan be added later...
Anyone with some pointers or advice would be great!!
See you at the track!

If your going to effort of custom build you may as well fully enclose, especially living in Auckland. Even with a soft cover/tarp moisture will still be sucked inside and mess with electrics on long trip...

Keh? Unless you run a climate control in the trailer, there's no difference in moisture levels in a trailer.
Put one bike in backwards to get more space. A removeable wheel block for the middle bike facing backwards. Piece of piss, have at it.

Talking about road spray being sucked in through any gaps which is common on cheaper trailer setup and creating a damp environment.
Maybe only a problem on 5% of wet journeys but one of those things worth doing properly if you have the time/chance/gear etc...
Similar to a bike being parked outside as opposed to garaged, 99% of the time no issue but does create an opportunity for electric issues.

Someone on here drew these plans up and posted them a while back. Credit to them if they are still around!

yea. Windle lived in a fully enclosed/sealed trailer for 6 months and it nearly rusted away..

Just build it as big as is legal, we built the sidecar trailer as wide as is legal and as long as is legal (think its 2m wide and 3.6 long or something)
Full build under 1k incl everything, lights, wheels, hubs etc etc.
We have 60cm sides one it and prob put a tarp over it - original plan was fully enclosed but towed one and the drag was so bad I'm prob not gonna do it.. having it lower + tarp is prob gonna save me a million in gas money.
Didn't draw plans.. had a laser level and a welder and some steel.. have at!

Sidecar trailer full build for under 1k is awesome!
Plan is to have a removable frame with canvas cover, dont want a solid cage as it will just be annoying when stropping down.
Cheers for the input guys, even looking at buying a large trailer then having my way with it!
Will post a pic once im done with the build. Unless someone allready has a suitable trailer they are wanting to sell??
Not sure if having the middle bike in backwards will save alot of room? Most sportbikes still have a wide ass, some side exhaust etc.
