CBTA R - Learner to Restricted assessment
Those who hold a Learners Licence can sit their CBTA R at any time, you do not have to wait a minimum on 6 months on Learner Licence to complete your CBTA - R and progress to restricted licence.
Successful completion of a CBTA- R course during the learner stage will:

remove the minimum time period for holding a learner licence (you must still be at least 16 ½ years of age when applying for your restricted licence).
remove the requirement to sit a class 6 restricted practical test
How long does the CBTA - R assessment take?
The learner stage (CBTA- R) assessment takes between 50-60 minutes riding time, which allows for a comprehensive assessment of your riding skills in both urban and higher speed zone areas. Together with the Pre and Post Assessment brief you should allow up to 90 minutes to complete your CBTA - R.

CBTA F - Restricted to Full assessment:
If you have your Restricted licence you can sit your CBTA -F, however you need to wait until you have completed a minimum of 12 months on Restricted licence, before you'll be able to apply for your Full motorcycle licence.
Successful completion of a CBTA course during the restricted stage will:

reduce the time period for holding a restricted licence from 18 months to 12 months
remove the requirement to sit a class 6 full licence practical test

Completed one of those bronze rider training courses last week and then Prorider organised an extra cbta R assessment for me and my mate, additional to their published schedule, just to fit me in before Xmas at my request (request was actually far more like whining and begging obviously).

Can't believe how great their service has been throughout. Phil and Howard are great blokes that know their stuff and Simone in the office was amazingly helpful. I can't say enough good stuff about them.
