Look at this, a pontential export niche market/business to be based in NZ but blown out of the water by NZTA.
Anyone else think this could be a sweet design for putting bikes into vans etc...
The drivers are already disabled so if they have another crash, murphys law and all it will prob be their last anyway...

I've followed this saga for sometime as I know Barry. It seems unlikely that a comparable solution exists but if it does I'm sure he'd be interested to hear of it.

Edit: Found the "Attitude" article. The Skoda Yeti is not really comparable with what Matangi are doing. For starters it's not a van.

I would like to see the test results or calculations the NZTA performed to come to the conclusion. I suspect they don't exist - like the NZTA's understanding of transport engineering. Seeing as they technically don't hire any transport engineers.

tell me what part of that plan involves the hiring/consulting with someone who has engineering capabilities in transport design.

They should stick with the topics they actually can get experience in........the easy one.........building a flat surface to drive on / roads (and they even get that one wrong).
