I picked up the mighty A100 lastnight, awesome bike it is :D
Travelling back down the Hutt Motorway with BL behind me in the car keeping an eye on my shitting riding skills, nothing out of the ordinary. There is on of those huge trucks with those pointy arrows on the back of the truck telling people to move into the other lane.
As I'm approtching the truck I'm constantly glancing in my rightside mirror watching a white car (merc) speed up and TRY and cut infront of me, totally fucking the whole manovor up, the dick locks his breaks up and smashes the right front side straight into the back of the truck doing about 80kms -110kms?
I thought I was fucken done for! I was expecting the merc to bounce off the truck and slam me into the barrier, or at least wipe me out.
I didn't stop, I think it was best for him/it if I didn't.
What a tosser.

Call the cops and make a statement. It may serve to increase charges from careless to dangerous.

I was riding down the motorway last night and saw one of the trucks with the arrows etc. Infront of it was a car stoved into the dedian barrier (quite messy) and there was a police car there as well. About 9:20pm. When did the incident happen NC?

People who drive late-model European cars are unlikely to have paid for them with their own money. A business somewhere will have financed this purchase and be paying vast amounts of FBT on it.

NC - Glad to hear that you and your bike are ok.
Hope they throw the book at the driver.
Do ring the police as YOU are a witness to the accident.
They need to know excatly what happened.
So they can throw more charges at the plonker.
I don't think they will worry about you not stopping, as there was workers on site to deal with it. Plus you were in shock after just about being killed by that maniac.
PS: Nothing has come throu via email from "police comms centre" about the accident at all.

Poor truck driver too!

The trucky will be sweet. Those trucks have a big deformable water filled buffer on the back that weighs about 2 tons and soaks all the energy up without even moving the truck. Saw a Nissan Bluebird fold up on one on the Nauranga gorge. Truck didn't even bounce up and down a bit.
I never get that "must speed up to pass in the most dangerous situation I've been in all day" mentality.

I'd like to see the drivers try that on a bike; strap them to the bike with some duck-tape and lock the throttle open  - now try and pass me you MOFO!

A sensible woman. New vehicles of this ilk depreciate by at least half of their showroom value in the first year of ownership. Call me old-fashioned or call me tight, but I can think of more creative ways of torching $80,000 plus in a year...

Goes to show nc's got some skills there........I saw the car coming up fast and thought he might pull into the lane that nc and i were using. we were both breaking and nc had already moved over to the far side so there was enough room for him at a pinch to squeeze thru. However, because he had locked up his breaks his steering for some reallly really strange reason just didnt seem to work. A few seconds after he hit I could see nc's helmet moving around, I wasnt sure if she was laughing of swearing :D
The guy in the merc is really lucky he didnt hit nc and didnt hit the back of the truck full on as he would have come to a really quick stop then.
The position of the truck wasnt the best. Just after a curve that kept it hidden and without any prior warning that they were doing something up ahead, like a a sign saying slow down. Mind you the truck seems to slow you down rather well.

Blardy hell! And I thought we had all the nutters up here on Auckland's motorways... :oi-grr:
(Oh hang on - we do get the bulk of the non-driving nutters lobbing rocks off the overbridges at us...and those with hammers that aren't afraid to nail their point home...)
Good skills and luck on both your respective sides I think...
(Excuse the extremely sickening and gratuitous pun...):puke:
