Ok so my son has brought one of these home that he has been given. The engine runs ok ish seems to be starving for fuel at the top of its rev range. The main problem though is the drive belt seems to be slipping. I took the cover off and there is lots of oil in there. Now I'm no mechanic but I'm pretty sure one of these drive belts should not be covered in oil?? Can anyone help me figure out where it might be coming from? Thanks in advance :drinknsin

There should be about .13L of gear oil in the final drive. Check that first, the oil could be coming from there, is the oil thick enough to be gear oil?.
Could it be oil from the 2t engine oil tank? Sometimes a plastic tank rubbing against the frame may wear a hole although how that would find its way into the transmission I dont know.
I have a service manual for a Yamaha 50cc 2t here which would probably be a similar design and layout to the suzuki if you want to have a look. Also have a you tube clip showing stripping and reassembling a 50cc 2t cvt transmission saved to the pc.
Here's a link to another thread somewhere in this section.

Cheers for the info it is quite thick oil so don't think it's coming from the little oil tank for the motor...

Check all oil levels. Replace all with fresh. (one oil at a time after cleaning the belt)
Check also ... the air filter. Holes in the filter (or no or incorrect filter) will cause it to run lean.
