View Full Version : My last ride

After a couple of weeks lay off with tendon problems in my knee I came to a sad conclusion. The bike had to go. The wife chauffered me to the bike shop last Saturday and after a bit of haggling I got a good offer, so today, despite the wind and rain I enjoyed my last ride on the Bonnie. Lots of regrets but it had to happen sometime and I don't like long winded decision making. So, it's goodbye Triumph. :violin:
New Bandit goes well though :devil2: :devil2: :devil2:

Sorry, pissing down with rain. Had to get it inside and gloat. Just an ordinary naked 1200. The wife likes the colour (metalic blue) so it's passed the most stringent test. Bugger having to run it in though

I just HAVE gone on my last ride on the CB400f2 today. Its at present cooling down so I can give it a good clean. I've sold it to another KBer and while riding it it really no longer felt that it belonged to me (I find that weird) so I rode around Taranaki for the last time on it like a Nanna, even the local HP waved to me (must have been because I was the only one doing the limit?). I'll miss the bike, but only up until the new bike turns up early next month :devil2:

That was the intention, but it's a bit like the toothache disappearing when you go the dentist. When I walked into a bike shop I forgot what I was there for and the knee miraculously healed itself. Don't think the missus was too pleased, she's a Triumph fan, but she reckons the Bandit looks ok. That'll do for now. Now I have to explain how I can go from hobbling around with a crutch to riding a bike in half an hour. (Arnica cream)?? maybe she'll believe it.
Good luck with the new bike Inlinefour. Seems that half the guys on the forum are changing rides. Must be Spring :ride: :ride: :ride:

I'm upgrading due to the fact that the 400 is no longer what I need, but the spring thing works well too. Hopefully I'll see you out on the road one day. Oh and I tend to have a good med kit with pain relief so I can dish you out some if your feeling like the preverbial...
