...there was someone that did it once, but I think he's dead now...can't be sure as to how factual it is though...I heard it from the mate of a mate who read about it on a forum...

I am thinking of painting my bar end weights. Should I attempt it myself or see a professional? Also I can only afford to do one at the moment, should I get a quote?

I was going to paint mine, but the color was a bit wrong so I had to paint it, now I'm just waiting on the paint I painted on that paint to dry so I can get it the right color, then I can paint my bike.

I painted my bike. Once.
Then i sold the fairings.
was not worth the effort i put in. (to be fair there was large bits of the fairings missing that I had to make up) it ended up being cents per hour....

Also, bar ends. Shouldn't one be painted red and the other green?

I painted my Kawasaki. Then I panted it again. Then I painted it again. Then I painted it again. Now I have thrown all those parts out because I'm a cunt.
My GN is bare steel and it's staying that way. I think. Or I'll paint it.
It has no bar end weights though, not sure if that changes the charging system though? I think it does throw the jetting out a bit too.

If you have the twin carb GN then you will need the green and red end weights.

Ah! With that set up you will need to up grade to metallic paint or run the gauntlet of advice pertaining to a lithium type battery.
Or you could rejet your old lead acid battery.

Just don't paint the powerband. Spend the money on a quality new one of your preferred colour (check it fits tight).

If it's still too tight, a little more lube and put a bit of weight behind it as you rock back and forth.

Preheating the lube and using an impact screw driver usually gets a result
Then just rinse, lather and repeat ain't it?

I have painted my bike and done a tail conversion. The tail was a lot of work I mucked it up the first time and took my sweet time on it over all doing bits here and there when I could be bothered. The tank was full of dents and was pretty shit - was free though so I don't complain. Its white now, still needs stripes. Bike is now Snowflake pearl (Mazda 6). 1K lacquer spray cans. Came out well for cans - good shine, not much orange peel etc. That's it below....

Shall do. Small list of things to do mechanically - just usual maintenance stuff, be good to have it running in top shape, not that its terrible as it is now.

Had a mate years ago who had a T250. He fell off, (lots of times actually) and then one day decided to paint it. When it was done we all went around for the great unvaling. Was a bit shit but then again it was only spray cans. Anyway, he proudly hops on and takes it for a blat up the road. He should have only been about a minute, just to the corner and back. He did only go to the corner and back, but it took five minutes instead. When he got back the bike was shit again, he'd fallen off on the way to the corner.

I once rattle-can spray-painted my RD250/350LC blue. Went overseas and it was sold (blaa blaa long story useless brother in-law with huge farm sheds full of crap but no space to store a little bike ...).
Three years later back in the country, and find it outside a dealer.
Someone had installed a proper oil pump, no longer a pre-mix.
Someone had also fixed the crack I put in the crank case, no longer dripped gearbox oil.
But ... it was still my beautiful blue.

It's crazy, these little things are collectors now, their price only going to go up…. simply because they are 250cc they will be worth more than the bigger bikes.

Try painting your boots red, tap the heals 3 times while saying 'there's no place like home'; once for each tap. You should hopefully end up back in the world you came from.
