This guy's selling an "as new" Dainese suit on Trademe that should fit me but it doesn't look like any of their current models.
Its probably just an older model but could it be one of the Chinese fakes?

If you are local go and try it on. Chinese fake have synthetic leather so it's easy to spot.

Dainese also change their models fairly regularly. Might just not be current.

Yeah he told me its 8 years old and never used, bought from Mt Eden Motorcycles. I dont think its quite worth his asking price though

Looks like he's throwing in a fair bit of other stuff - boots, helmet, vest and so-on. Read the comments on the auction.

Not sure I would want a used lid, and depending on the type of armer that might need to be replaced in the suit. Eight years old and $750 seems high. You can get nice leathers for road use that is new for that.
I have Revit gear that's more than adequate for the road and includes removable thermal layer as well as removable water resistant layer. Two piece Zip together as well. They were in that price range.

Depends on your definition of "nice". Not Dainese you won't. Even in Europe they start around the equivalent of $1600 and go up from there. Way up. So half the price of the current cheapest suits is probably not over the top. And bear in mind that you'd be adding freight and GST to the $1600. $750 is less than the cost of a modest "Made in Italy" jacket.

Apparently. I checked the Belgian Dainese place. My newest Spidi jacket came from FC Moto.
Those sale prices include VAT so the suits should actually cost even less than the sale price shown.

they are retardedly cheap at fcmoto, I just got a new Alpinestars motegi race suit newest gayest colours, for $74 more than what that guy wanted for second hand 8 year old leathers.
