The seller really isn't going to get far with such a poorly worded and structured listing. Completely dreaming I say.

When you take a dispassionate look at it, can any Harley be worth 20, 30 or 40k? I'd say no, but there are people who will buy in to the dream(c)(TM).
And when you read the ad, would you buy anything from that bloke? I suspect it could be a KB member actually.

Yea it's in pretty shabby condition... So assuming his is worth 60k a mint one must be worth 150k haha

Either doesn't really want to sell it, just keep the hand bag in touch or doesn't want to pay fees. Lots of sellers do this.
So you contact them for a more realistic price.
I know of at least one seller *who through good timing has been able to sell 2 bikes and list a third by using the free relist feature and editing the add.
I looked at his CB900 but by the time I had the money it was an FJR6? I think the last time I looked it ha evolved into a Harley.
Asking price on all was $99,999.
In the ad was comment about keen to talk.
* allegedly, to the best recall and all the don't shoot me nonsense.
Stupid phone / Tapatalk, apologies in advance.

That's what people don't understand about auctions.
Things aren't worth what sellers say. Things are only worth what buyers are prepared to pay.
Personally think he's dreaming, but if some mug will pay it, that's what it's worth.
Out of interest, if I was hoping to get 60K for something, I'd take the time to make the ad look attractive to people with a spare 60K, instead of those who can hardly read English.

By your own definition, I don't think he's appealing to the educated ;)

I suppose if the front drum brakes have been re-lined, that would bump the price up??? :tugger::tugger:
Looking at the front lawn, wonder if he would take a lawn mower as part trade? ;)

Far be it for me to be the defender of Harley Davidsons, but this guy might not be as far away as we all think: http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C373390
Mind you, that's 25,000 Euros for a mint one, so he's probably 10-15K out from what I can tell. Remember this monstrosity isn't a regular Super Glide, it's listed here: http://www.baggersmag.com/top-five-used-harley-davidsons as one of the most desirable used Harleys and to quote the article: Few examples of the original 1971 Boat-Tail Super Glide still exist, but those on the used market can command among the highest prices of any used Harley-Davidson manufactured during the 1970s
He's certainly not doing himself any favours with the ad though, that's for sure - poorly worded and crap pictures. For $60K there's a big list of bikes I'd be looking at before that one!
