Sadly selling my ST1100 as I'm giving up touring. Just completed my last trip - Whangarei to Gore return. Superb bike - sensibly ridden and properly maintained. These are made for doing high mileage and this one shows no signs of getting tired. When I had it serviced prior to the trip the mechanics couldn't believe how well it runs.

Comes with service history since 85,000km. New Metzeler Z6's were fitted at 160,000km, so these are likely to to another 8-10,000km (average life of set of tyres on this is 22-23,000km!). Had "new" forks fitted prior to Sth Island trip as chrome was worn through on one of the fork legs - was still warrantable but decided to change anyway. The old forks come as spares as do some other bits and pieces including a spare "summer" screen. Also comes with Haynes manual and printed owner manual and parts manual.

Overall condition is very good - some scratches on the pannier handles, but in general paint is tidy and not faded. No evidence of any crashes or scrapes. The top-box is off another bike and is a bit rough so I may hang on to that, but the givi mount goes with it. A fitted Oxford cover comes with it.

Rego and WOF both to November. Thought I would offer it on here first before going the TM route.

May be keen on a swap for an adventure bike ;) - 250-650cc range single cylinder - equal or lesser value.

Someone needs to buy this and strip it to make a cafe racer with four straight pipes - like they do with old Gold Wings.

Probably not helpful to you selling your P & J though....

It's in too nice a condition to do that - be fun with a binned one though.

This would be perfect for someone wanting to do an extended 2-up tour of NZ over the spring/summer. I'd happily trust it to jump on and ride to Invercargill again - absolutely no issues with it.

:shit: what logic! The market for cool number plates seems to have dried up. I blame the National Government.

I would think twice about that enquiry

Don't want to sound rude but $4k for a 15 year old bike with 173,000 kms? Is that a good price?

Market on TM is all fucked up from what I can see. Always surprised how high or low some rides go for.

Agree with the strip down version - see a couple of goodies.

I can almost guarantee this is going to end badly. Should have ticked the "authenticated members only" box when listing.

That's what idd do but idd want to find a gravel rash one as 4k is a bit much before adding a small fortune.

Yeah... I'm a bit cynical but maybe it's some Ausy dude who has an ST of his own, wants to do an NZ tour and get a cheap, reliable one here rather than hiring something or bringing his bike over? Could be legit. Wait and see I guess :corn:. Perfect bike for it!

Yeah I did report him to TradeMe - to get my success fee refunded. He was an Aussie so got to cut them a bit of slack :Playnice:.

Probably pass on the Hyosung although my daughter's boyfriend has been looking at new ones that are LAMS restricted - it's not one of those is it?

Auction closes Thursday - have reduced reserve to $3600 which seems to be generating a bit on interest. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=810626804 One person asked about the cam belt - this was done as per logbook on Dec 2012 at 153k. Previous owner was pretty pedantic about proper servicing, using proper grease on the drive spline each time he changed the rear tyre, getting parts from overseas for anything that needed fixing etc. He did all the work himself and passed on the service manuals, parts book, service history since 85k when he got it plus lots of other bits and pieces that will go with the bike. It was (and still is) in great condition. Owner before his was a Ulysses Club guy so it's had a happy life of TLC and long distance work.
