View Full Version : KB's contribution to the world.

Linguists say that there are anywhere between 4000 to 10000 langauges spoken throughout the known world. I was just thinking that they could add at least another 3 from Kiwibiker.

For example. We have the original KB lingo consisting of words such as "sprotbike", "gargre", "praking" and such like.

Then we have the English with no punctuation, langauge spoken by such people as Hondacmx450 and a couple of others.

We also have the over punctuation langauge spoken by Brian_de_Marge which seems to consist of scrambled letters mixed with commas.

And how can we forget Wari's own invented langauge. Crossed between a drunken slur and the Aussie outback, you don't get much better (or confused) than him!

So with all these langauges being spoken around here, its quite clear on why there are a few of us going out of our minds. But at the end of the day, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Rock on KB :Punk:

Ahh yes...

KB is the bleeding edge of linguistic evolution...

(Phurrball hopes that some of the mutations seen here are deleterious and soon to disappear from the meme-pool):devil2:

Now, where was that thread housing the uber-pedants...(Cringes at inability to figure out how to produce an umlaut in KB post...The shame...)

To get an umlaut look on the keymap in your accessories menu - should give you an Alt + 0176 type code (that one is °, 0178 is ². Very useful two to remember...)

A new language just in is Biffs. I notice often a vowel can be throw in halfway through a word to make it that must more pronounced.

Lack of umlaut = perils of windoze machine at work. Easier to achieve on my Powerbook: 'Option + U' followed by vowel of choice.

Suppose you can say the apostrophe and capital you've dropped in the typing of "Queens' (or Queen's) English...." :moon: :innocent:

Its not the "Queen is" so where is the apostrophe meant to go?

James Deuce

It's a possessive apostrophe. It indicates that English belongs to the Queen.
