I know, I know it is still too new to be on the road but the pics look awesome.......
I've been a BMW GS guy for 12 odd years and never had ANY issues with any of my BM's (F650GS(Single), R1150GS,R1200GS of the F650GS(K72 - Twin)) BUT this new Suzi is has really caught my eye. In the process of buying a new bike and was about to go to the BM dealer, but then saw the pics it as according to the guys at Colemans Suzuki the info should be forthcoming around the 16th of October.
So I guess I'll wait till then so see what's going on.......
so what does the VStrom riders around here think of the new version???

I think they look good. It's what Suzuki should have done years ago

It is a major disappointment for me. All they've done is use spokes and stick on a dorky beak. In real terms it is only a styling exercise.
What they should have done is 21" front, slightly longer suspenders and ground clearance. Also they could have programmed a gravel / off road ABS option. The development costs couldn't be that large.
Sort of like what Triumph have done with the tiger 800. Edit: I read somewhere that they sell more XCs than the standard 19" model (not sure if that is true - read it on the internet!)

Yeah looks good, like the spokes. Hope that bash plate is standard? The current after market plastic thing is hopeless
Yep, wot Paturoa said about the ABS too, its a must.
lets hope they have adjustable front suspenders, a decent set of bars instead of those narrow things they have now and an exhaust that is not so restrictive.

Without pictures this thread is.... Never mind it's about an "adventure" bike anyway. It was pointless in the first instance.

Nothing makes a bold statement about adventurous intent quite like an exposed exhaust pipe running directly under the motor :pinch:

Hehehe. Let's make a more adventurous version. We'll stick crash bars on, spoked wheels, rugged hard luggage... bash plate? Nah, that would be excessive...

always wondered, was it just a typo when they named it? supposed to be "V-Storm"?

Thanx for the replies.......
something Patorua mentioned got we worried a little.......the ABS on the VStrom, I just thought it would also be "gravel friendly" i.e. being able to switch off like on the BM's.
Are you telling me it is not?......I don't know too much but one thing I have learned is that ABS+gravel = PAIN!!

Nah, definitely Strom, German word means air, stream, current, electricity, wind etc. So a V twin that has wind
