Sup man, welcome to the site, ya prolly gonna get a lot of shit for getting a 600cc for ya first bike but thats just the way it goes round here, as long as ya got a good head on ya shoulders ya should be alright, but there are pleanty of guys n gals on here that'll give ya good advice, like if ya gonna buy the quick bike, make damn sure you buy the good gear (leather) to go with it, if ya need a hand in deciding what gear n shit to buy, give me a yell and i'll lend a hand, theirs mostly a ride or two going each weekend, get out and about on these, you will pick up vaulabe tips and learn a lot more faster with a group, plus meet some cool cats on the way.
Honda CBR6000's are all shit dont buy one, get say a GSXR600, much better, nah the CBR's all good, whatever floats ya boat mate.

Hey mate, welcome to KB. So do you or don't you have a licence? If you do have your full, I don't see why a 600 is a bad thing. Don't get a GSXR though, they are becoming, "common" shall we say.
Anyhoo, welcome to the site and learn heaps

As Loosebruce said - you'll cop some flak for going straight to a 6. Some people are very much holier than thou on this site. Personally I'm not one of them - so welcome to the site :Punk: I do have to say though, stepping straight onto a 6 of any description is a big call, take care.
CBR very pretty, especially in black. Out for a ride with a Repsol thou yesterday, very very pretty - especially the arse end as it disappeared...

Hey mate welcome.................i bought a 600 straight away before i even had my learners and its not toooo bad just make sure you take it easy for a couple of weeks at least until you know the bike and even then dont go above your limit. I've had a couple of bins on mine but hey you can only learn from your mistakes.
Good luck and the CBR is a good choice of bike mate stay clear of those dirty Gixxer's :nya: :nya:

Is that the arse end of the bike or Deano's arse?
I think the CBR6 gets let down massivly by the shit colour schemes, still reckon the 03 black one with the silver wing on the side is the bizzo.

welcome to the site mate. nothin wrong with starting on a 600, as long as you have a good head and are willing to learn before the right wrist gets too twitchy. Good luck

no licence at all bro. I only bothered to get a license cos the guy I was buying the bike off knew me, knew my attitude, and refused to let me buy it until I had at least a learners - that was only an FZR400. But it turned out to the best thing I ever did, cos it forced me to do the basic handling, which then introduced me to the idea of the CBTA. It taught me lots of useful little things as well as accelerating the license phase so I was legal within prob 3-4 months of getting on a bike.
Didn't teach me common sense, but that's a whole 'nother ballgame!!

Or die quick.
But hey, what the hell, if it's quick it won't hurt. Right?

Hey, welcome dodge10,
A bit of a big call going straight into a 6hundy of that caliber but if you take it easy for a while you'll be ok.
The only advice I would offer is that unless your a nana your first bike will be a steep learning curve and you might find your self on your ass once or twice so I probably wouldn't buy a new bike right away until you've picked up the basics and confidence because gravel rash will drop the resale of your bike big time, also with the new 600's their a bit of a rocket so good gear is highly recommended

I wouldn't get 600 on an L license if I were you.
But that's me.
NSR250 is quite pretty too, y'know.....and quite exciting to ride in the twisties.
Also, there is a tale of someone on a cbr250 beating an R1 on a twisty somewhere back in the past......a true legend, that man. :hitcher:

or months/years?
If you've never ridden a bike, and don't hold a licence - don't do it mate. You're only asking for a painful/fatal, "told you so."
Can you tell I'm now a responsible father?
Whatever you decide - good luck.
Oh - and welcome.

Well ya' could kill ya'self on a 50 I guess, but the real issue with buying an illegal bike is two fold to me.
You are going to crash, depends totaly on you how much damage you do,but on a 6 it's going to cost shit loads more than if you picked an elcheapo type 250 or similar.
The other thing you probably don't give a shit about now but give it time an you'll remember this post.
You fuck up badly enough an you can get banned from riding/driving indefinatly, plus you just might live long enough to one day need insurance for something, good luck making a claim with a criminal history.
Then again it's your call huh.
Marmoot
12th September 2005, 20:25
plus, no insurance would cover you if you are riding a bike outside the license restriction. Maybe you do not know, but L license only permits bike up to 250cc.
Plus, L plate on CBR600 just ruins the beauty....just ruins it. In fact, no L plate should be on any Honda. They may look ok on a Gixxer 1K....but not a Honda. :wait:
(grab a flameproof suit and hides.......)

if you get your learners you will have to pay more fines man, $400 if you got you full car right, if you got you learners, no plate, going over 70 and then over 250 better off not having a licence at all costs less if you get caught after hours too.

How about we agree that some people are more concerned for his welfare and bank balance (get caught=big fines) than anything else .

Thanks for the advices about the fines becos that what bothers me the most, not afraid of dying on a cbr. I will try to get the basics slowly and i believe i will pick it up quickly. God help me. thanks again all

Listen to what the 'oldies' say, if this is NOT troll I would tell you NOT to start with a 600 if you've never ridden a bike, unless you have superhuman self-control and perceptions I would not be expecting there will be any need to give you advice in the future for long - 'cos you won't be around to recieve it.
Start with a 250 and you might be here a bit longer.
