Over in Rotorua tonight to catch up with the whanau, as you do. We need to get some cash out to pay a bloke for our alarm monitoring for the next year. Fenton Street ANZ, well lit (important after dark when withdrawing cash) insert my eftpos card into the ATM and wait. The screen goes dark then says "Sorry, this ATM isn't available right now". It also has my eftpos card in it! Fucken hell. Experienced some of the most unhelpful/uncaring customer service I think I have ever had when I rang them to see how to get my card back. I can't, it has been destroyed by the machine apparently. And, worst of all "there must be something wrong with my card" if you please.

Word to the innocent. Always have another means of surviving when relying on your eftpos card and a poxy machine to get money out. Thanks god I only married Maha for his money :)

Have the kettle hot for us tomorrow, we have to come to Taupo to replace my card. Mine is white no sugar, you remember how Maha likes it eh?

They consistently come last in the "Customer satisfaction" surveys for good reason. I think I am right in saying that ALL their back office stuff is outsourced to Mumbai. We deal with them regularly and it is ALWAYS a motherfucking nightmare. At least ASB and BNZ have LSC's here. Westpac have one in Chur chur!

I feel your pain. I always have a little bit of cash for that reason.

Of course you realise that the fun has just begun, right? Now you have to interface at a "store" and deal with "customer service" face to face. I dont envy you that.

Fortunately I don't bank with ANZ, I just used their well lit ATM, FFS! ASB have already arranged a replacement eftpos card for me to collect in Taupo tomorrow after we have had tea and bicckys with Katman :D

Happened to me once, entered the wrong pin too many times, it swallowed the card, we were in Auckland, no money for food or gas. Was the longest slowest most economical piece of driving ever seen in this country, but we made it back to Putaruru, just.

We bank with the ANZ.

We were with the National Bank before ANZ swallowed them. We were worried that ANZ's terrible reputation was going to take over and ruin the good one from the National Bank. We were told by the ANZ (in writing) that they would keep all the good bits of the National Bank and throw out the corresponding bits from the ANZ. So far for us this has proven to be true. It seems that there may be bits of the old ANZ that are still there that we thankfully haven't had to deal with yet.

We USED to be with "The National Bank of New Zealand" and really liked them. After they got swallowed by ANZ it went down hill rapidly.

I did not want to bank with "the worst bank in the country", but I did give them a chance before leaving. There are still some good bits - like the ex-National Teller that helped me close the accounts.

I see from yesterday's paper that the fat CEO just got an 11% payrise, while the actual workers are fighting to get 2% :(

Why let yourself be ripped off, and your country sucked dry - get out from their dastardly clutches...

...and yet Im still with them

But not for long!...buying our first home soon :wings:
And the day before...Im going into the bank with a smile on my face, and will be asking them to "Please close my NATIONAL BANK accounts"...oh<_<...and please tell your CEO etc to go fuck themselves!:bleh:..and I hope you get your well earned pay rise :D

Will be using a combination of TSB and NZ home loans
http://www.nzhomeloans.co.nz/
...using there system, I will have the mortgage paid off in 16yrs and will have saved nearly 200k! (that the BANK would have made!) :msn-wink:

Anyone buying a house SERIOUSLY needs to check this KIWI home loan company out...great service, great support and best of all...great savings taken away from the banks "profits" :wings:

FUCK ANZ!...its OUR money!...its mean't to work for us...not them!

We were National Bank customers and scarpered when they got assimilated by ANZ. Not being able to get past the voicemail of our 'business banking manager' was a total mind fuck :brick:

Now with TSB and 95% happy with them. We ring, someone from our branch answers and thing are sorted. The 5% except for us is that TSB have to 'piggy back' on ASB (?) for their Visa card services so generally there is up to an 8 hour delay when transferring funds across for larger PayPal transactions (stock buying). As we really only use TSB as an intermediary from PayPal, where most of our sales are transacted, to us we have a slightly unusual set of requirements of our bank and good comm's is high on the list. And no mortgage needs.

The bonus is that TSB also returns a lot of funds back into the Naki by way of sponsorship :niceone:

from my perspective they are without doubt the easiest bank to deal with because you phone a branch, a person answers, you tell them what you want, they help. If they cant they say "Ring Pete, here is his number - direct dial", and Pete gets you what you need. Fantastic. I was doing a rural subdivision and as you would imagine the bank documents are relatively important... theirs were spot on, timely, and made me look as if I was sitting on my hands. I really rate them. Their mortgage and lending documentation (and LVR's etc) are a bit different than the big 4 aussies (same as say Heartland or SBS) and they are a wee bit less free with the signon bribe but in terms of satisfaction I really rate them.

Been with ANZ for years, only had issues a couple of times on slightly messy house sales/purchases post earthquakes, always been sorted the same day.

Helps if you own a house, or 2, or 3, and owe them a shitload of money, it's in their interest* as well as yours to get things right, and having a direct dial number to your personal banker at the local branch helps.

*see what I did there

Just had another reminder why I hate the ANZ

ANZ internet banking requires a cellphone confirmation for ALL internet transfers - and you can only register one phone against an account, even if the account is in two names. ANZ forced me to register a cellphone number last time I logged on - so I used mine.

Today my wife needed to transfer a small amount from our one last account with them to one of her work accounts, but could not do so as I was unavailable to forward the confirmation number to her.

Her work also banked with National and is now with ANZ and also forced a single cellphone registration - even though there are four people in her office

(For comparison TSB does also require a confirmation - but only for amounts over $250)

What a wunch of Aussie Bankers

i hate the "security" bs..
i almost never carry "ID" - new plastic thing in the mail, need to put a pin on at bank "got any ID?"
...no, you?
"we cant do it without ID"
i can recite the fucking number backwards and provide miscellany identifying particulars"
"we cant do it without ID"
i can tell you the number that is on the "ID" you have scanned into your computer.
"we cant' do it without ID"
FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK.

like, if i'd stolen this guys wallet, with his ID and his new card, i wouldn't just style my hair and go and set a pin and take all his fucking money.
(i don't have any money, and no-one has hair as pretty as me, so don't get any ideas)

also, making online payments the "security" ID grid fucking thing they give you to carry in your wallet (liek for when it gets stolen....) grid of numbers and shit. i have 10 copies of that printed and floating around and a digital copy on most devices i carry because ITS SO FUCKING ANNOYING.
and I DONT CARRY ANYTHING BUT CASH AND DRUGS.

BNZ, btw. who, despite having NZ in the name, are nothing to do with NZ.

fuken jews.

i'm not worried about "scammers" or "theives" the greatest fucken threat to my wellbeing is the motherfucken jew cunt IMF OBR strayan crown fuck ass maggots that deal in jewgold (currency).
