Keen to see if anyone out there has a Danmoto exhaust on a CB900 Hornet or similar i4 bike.

Would ideally like to have a look at the quality of the pipe and hear what it sounds like before buying one. Could be a longshot to see if someone would actually meet up and show me. This is Kiwibiker after all... :killingme

I did. Loud. Quality seemed ok. DB killer worked to make it a bit more livable.

I have one on my cb500x , loud pops and crackles when cold 😁 a bit to loud on a long trip . They get louder as the Kays get on . Just pref tube and exhaust wool inside by the looks . Fitting was a easy as . Use the standard gasket and curl the ends of the springs as I lost one on the road somewhere .

Good value for the price (cheap). Packing will be el cheapo and wear out quicker than a Yoshi or similar. Repacking is a home job.

Had one on a Bandit 1200, it sounded great, pretty loud though. Workmanship was a lot better than I had expected.
Currently have one on my NC30 (400cc V4) and it's louder than the bloody Bandit was.
Very good value for money.

Yeah seen the videos on Youtube but want to hear one for real! And I sure as hell don't have $700 ready to blow on an exhaust :bleh:

I'm in the same boat as you here. I just purchased a hornet 900 as well and has the stock cans on it. Very very quiet... My last bike was a VTR 1000 and also had stock pipes and I didn't want to spend a lot on getting it to sound good so I took it to the honda shop in pahiatua and they took a few baffles out and it sounded freaking awesome. Did nothing to performance but for a cheap $70 compared to spending hundreds just to get a better sound I was very happy. Now I'm wondering if I should be doing it to the hornet. The cheapest cans I've found locally for me is on trade me

so I'm still undecided yet

I ended up doing that today on my hornet! Took a little more than a hour to do both cans and cost me a huge $0.00

What's the sound difference like? Any issues with idle or running?

I got a Danmoto for my GSX-750. It cost me something like $160 landed, and the quality is much better than expected. Actually it looks bloody great. It's LOUD. Without the baffle is crazy loud, so spend the extra $16 and get the baffle. With the baffle it's still loud, but more tolerable. Still too loud for my taste, but that's a personal thing.

Here is the video I shot at the time. As always, videos don't give you a good idea of volume. It's LOUD. If you're ever in Tauranga give me a bell and you can hear mine.

Those are just Danmoto exhausts. Save yourself some money and buy directly from Danmoto, rather than a middleman trying to make a quick buck on trademe.

Yea what nz spokes said. Took it out for a ride for about an hour today thanks to manawatu cranking some sun finally. Had no running troubles or idling troubles. Hasn't made it excessively loud, just a nicer deeper tone. It's funny how you sort of change the way you ride it when you can actually hear it. I don't regret doing it anyway. It will do until I get some after market cans. Next on the list is some handle bars so if anyone has any good suggestions, please share!
