I used to hate, I used to hate too much. I used to listen to hateful music, I used to be a hatefull skinhead. I used to hate my ex-wife for trying to keep me away from my son and I used to hate the six and a half grand that it cost me in solicitors fees to have the right to be a dad. I used to hate it how I got smacked over by my dad. I used to hate too much and looking back on it, people should have hated me for the way that I was. But the important people out there waited for me to mature, the ex realised she did not have a leg to stand on and gave up the battle and pulled her head in. I now only get a number 2 on the sides and back and longer on the top.
There are a few things in life that I don't like, but I believe I've got some control over changing some of them. I don't like people who complain, but will do nothing to improve their situation. But I see this at times in my job and will keep on trying to help. I don't like this thread one bit, I know it may be a big piss take, but its bringing me down. The thing I really don't like at the moment is not having a bike that I can happily go riding on. I've tried a few, but they are not mine and it just does not feel right. Oh and I've just been pricing up insurance for the new bike, I did not like the quotes that I obtained today.
But, my life is much better that it has ever been and I am very gratefull for that. I'd like to think that I've made some good friends through Kiwi Biker, but never really know because I have also pissed too many people off also. I think I almost hate this thread, but really just want to dislike it. I'd really like it to go into the pointless dribble section as I no longer enter that domain. I think I'm going to go away now from KB and not come back for a while, I think I hate hate. :angry:

I really get annoyed with adverts. OK, some are funny and well done and I enjoy watching things like Jasper Carrot's Commercial Breakdown - it's not the content of the ads that gets to me (tho' there are some I strongly dislike), it's the fact we have them at all.

For years we paid TV licences - now they've been scrapped in favour of direct taxation because no one wanted to pay, so TVNZ is still getting vast amounts of money from us - and on top of that, they're getting thousands of dollars a day in advertising, now they've taken yet another leaf out of the "American shitty television" book and are getting companies to sponsor the programs ("And Now, A Word From Our Sponsors").

My take is: One or t'other, you greedy fucking bastards! Either charge us a licence fee and give us ad-free TV, or play ads and get your hands off our wallets.

And I look at some of the crap that's on TV and they put the "This program was made with the help of your television licence" thing up at the end and I think "and that's why I'm opposed to paying you bastards..."

I was a student (tertiary) for the last 4 years and have seen all the scholarships and other services available (exclusively) for Maori (significantly less available for europeans). In my view everyone should be treated equally. THIS IS NOT RIGHT HELEN!!

I work at a tertiary institute at present and see Maori people being promoted into positions because they are Maori (rather than because they were the best applicant). Fuck it makes me angry!

I grew up and went through my schooling with Maori friends, being taught by Maori teachers at times too. Actually one of them was an activist of some sorts, Mr Potaka-Dews, he used the term "honky" a lot around the school grounds at lunchtime...I always thought he was rather rude!

My father in his later life has got into his Maori roots much deeper and has gained friendships with many Maori people, his partner is a Maori woman. They ended up *disliking* Auckland and buying a plot of land up at Wellsford...the more North you go the deeper the Maoridom is rooted.

Most Maori people I have ever known personally have been good folk/citizens like you and I :msn-wink: , a lot of the ruckus is caused by a group of activists who claim they represent the people when they don't. There are also complications because of our silly government and the Treaty of Waitangi that should have been resolved looooong ago!

In saying all that I think Maori should have it no different from anyone else living in this country, equal rights and opportunities I say! :spudwave: :wavey:

That is the worst part about this US vs THEM claptrap that is peddled by activist maori. Who is US? No one knows anymore. Some of the most anti maori people I know are part maori themselves, eligible for the maori electoral roll and so on.

Full and final settlements are what we need. Cut the dependency off at the knees and kick them into bettering themselves. It may sound insensitive, but I reckon it is the only way forward.
