Maybe but it certainly shows the agenda being pushed in behind the scene?

Who comes up with this crazy shit. My respect for the force has definatly taken a big dive with this lot?

Still worth signing after a quick read i reckon even if its now back at 4k

Its just a ploy to make us feel lucky to have a 4k limit that they will make permanent and double the fine to 60 soon.
30 isn't enough tax.

Why do partitions need tolerances? They just separate 2 sides. If they have tolerances, how do we know what side starts where?

Berries

These partitions are fairly accurate but even being laser cut they have a +/- 3% tolerance in use which means they cannot guarantee 100mm. Allowing a 4mm tolerance gives them a little leeway, if they said 101mm and it was actually 100mm there could be a bit of bother.

Not helped of course by the owners tape measure having an even greater degree of tolerance meaning they don't even know what 100mm is.

And then in the corner while everyone is measuring the partition the office gets burgled. Go figure.

Maybe signing wont change stupid speed fixation of NZ police......
but maybe its a start....
doing nothing definitely wont make a difference.
I am all for some serious action.....
politicians only worry about number of votes, and back down quite easily...

I missed something. When did the zero tolerance start being enforced on the road? Who got the first ticket for 1,kmh over?

Even at 4kmh, that's about 2/3 of walking pace over the limit. Only a sick mind would be happy to issue a ticket for that big a crime.

FFS, learn to spell.

A partition is a light, non-load bearing wall.

True, and proper speeding is in excess of 120kmh, not approximately the speed a cow walks at.

You could nearly forgive the cops for milking a bunch of leather wearers mooing like a pack of old cows while racing about :)

never mind better / compulsory driver training, better roading structure to accomodate pedestrians, bicycles and public transport next to private and commercial transport, never mind better and more varied structure of speed limits etcetc....lets become a nation of driverless car drivers.

Mr. Simon Bridges, Minister of Transport is very keen on that

http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/news/63664656/Bridges-NZ-can-take-lead-on-driverless-vehicles

The authority announced this week that it was developing new rules for flying drones.

Bridges said private companies would probably be at the forefront of developing this technology. But the Government had a responsibility to ensure the regulatory environment allowed the technology to develop as quickly as possible.

"We need to make sure we're thinking about . . . how [drones] interact with [piloted] planes, for example, from a safety perspective," he said. "You want to be ahead of the curve on these things."

The ministry briefing also pointed out the Government would need to be awake to developments in driverless cars, as well as new technologies that would eventually allow vehicles to share information about their speed and direction, warning them when evasive action was needed.

"It is unlikely that road crashes will ever disappear completely, but the scope for human error - which is a factor in most crashes - will reduce significantly," the paper said.

"The road toll could be significantly lower as a result of safety features in new cars, which may be so advanced that they are nearly impossible to crash."

Bridges said driverless cars would be able to travel safely at higher speeds with less separation between them, increasing the capacity of our roads.

He agreed the Government needed to keep pace with the technology to establish this country as a test-bed for some of these innovations.

"There's no reason why we can't actually go out to the world and, to some extent, have some leadership on these things."

Obviously enough noise to dissuade the decision makers from digging themselves a hole.

Anyway they're still playing the stupid ad that suggests that because someone was travelling at a bit under 110 indicated on their speedo (so in the real world a wee smidge over the legal limit) they are somehow at fault for someone pulling out in front of them with far less than the stopping distance at 100k between them. Let's not focus on the fact that the real cause of accidents is that a large percentage of the population drive like fucktards.

Yeah, dumb arse ad that - and if anything it should have focussed more on the idiot that pulled out of the side-road.

Victim mentality is valued more than the truth. The whole load of bullshit was a media beat up of the highest order, designed to make the Police look like a bunch of meanies. Meanwhile the general public looks like a bunch of 5 year old Remuera kids who've had their Playstation taken away.

Ok Thank you, and apology for that 'post'. You can stop trying to perform 'puppetry of the penis' now

It's not a 'chicken little' syndrome.
We KNOW this is how officialdom operates. Try it on, and see how the pleb's react. If they dont? "got the bastards". If they do? Go back to what we intended at the start..
Just like the Bikoi, we gained NOTHING, and then went away celebrating! :baby::baby::baby:
