Hi guys,
I'm looking to buy a gopro to record some of my rides. The price I'm willing to pay depends on what gopro it is - I'd be somewhat happy with a gopro1 or 2 at a decent price, otherwise give me your best price on a Hero 3.

Thanks

What about a POV? the later version but not HD, 720 though. I have one of these and it is great but looking at offloading it.
Small camera lens, bullet type rather than a monstrous wart on your helmet! :)

Or buy the new Go pro Hero.
Only $200 from the Go Pro Nz web store.

Only $200 from the Go Pro Nz web store. This is the best option. 720p at 60fps is more than enough for most people.

Hey, how much are you after for it? Got a link to a product page so I can research it? Thanks

Hi.
This wasn't cheap, I got it from dogcamsports in the UK.
They don't have any links for the POV 1.5 anymore, but the HD one.

Here is a link from another site for you, describes all and sundry.
I have a few extras with this, mount for bars, a few other bits and pieces. It works fine, I am getting out of filming just as you are getting into filming. :)
See what you think.
Cheers

Tried the official website but there is a glitch stopping me from checking out.

Start a thread, get advice then bugger off with no further comments? What is it with people these days?
Thanks for keeping us in the loop then....

Sorry should've posted an update.. will be making my decision after christmas. Still unsure between a gopro because of its mainstream popularity or an alternate brand like yours.

Im not sure I would call my go pro popular when I download it and the sound is appalling and there is not a good picture if your facing the sun.
I have one of the early models. Assume they must be better now if people still buy them.

Idd get a better result taping my phone to the bike plus I could text and ride.

I just picked up a hero 3+ black edition only 6 months old with a few extras including sd card for 450. Got a cheap chest mount, head mount and suction mount arriving in another week or two. Happy xmas to me!

If it helps any I got a Sony HDR-AS100VR which after much research I found to be better overall than the equivalent GoPro [Hero3+ Black]
Couple benefits are they're also splash resistant outside of their waterproof casing, they have image stabilisation (this feature is AWESOME) & they use standard camera mounting system it's not proprietary like GoPros

They currently can be picked up for around 425$ new, probably better on special

With a Go Pro, at least.

Might be different now but go-pros were just well branded Chinese (lower end of the scale too) cameras when they started out.

I'm no expert, but I found the lane positioning on blind corners painful to watch.

Luckily this is the internet, where everybody is an expert!

personally, i'd only go for the apex once i can see clear around and through the exit of the corner, but being on my L plates means i cant really comment :P
