ahh nice :)

although that mag is a mission to find sometimes, they need to get it distributed more.

I have only recently discovered BRM and really rate it. KiwiRider lets itself down with bad layout and design and the owners need to employ a good sub-editor (I have a cost-effective solution to offer here). Bike Trader is coming on nicely. The monthly pile of bike mag purchases round here is growing!

er...shucks :o ...well spotted...thanks guys. I've always had a hankering to be an author. I think I'll still keep my day job though.

I think it's a great mag, Glenn does a good job and he's a nice guy.

Blink: the magazine shop next to my work sells it, if ever you need a copy let me know and I'll pick one up for you.

What?

Or you could subscribe and get it a day or two before it's in the shops.

Yep just read that articule, well done.
I also think it's a good mag' The write up's an such seem to come from the average riders point of view.I thought Glen's comment about the Maori on the 999 was a bit off tap until I realised he was talking about himself.Obviously a real guy. :sunny:

He must be a "real" rider too, 'cos he just lost his license.

Poor Bugger.

Know what you mean FF. I can read everything I want to in KRNews in about fifteen minutes flat. Don't think I will renew my sub this year.
BRM, on the other hand :niceone:
As for classifieds, it's hard to beat the net.

Oh yeah - well done Lynda.

Lynda

An interesting review of the Monster 800 by the way. I read it out to Mrs Hitcher last night who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that for the first time in her life her (lack of) height is affecting what she loves to do -- ride motorbikes. I guess short guys have similar problems. Most bikes on the market and basically all sports bikes are off limits for Mrs H who, at 5'2", can't reach the ground. This only leaves bikes with seat heights of 720mm or less i.e. cruisers and eliminates entirely adventure bike riding. Although some manufacturers, notably BMW, offer "low seat options", in essence all they do is take a 780mm seat down to 760mm. To quote Mrs H "Whoop de doo!"

Thank goodness for low seat cruisers...

The problem with KR is that the market is starting to fragment and become specialised - they are still trying to cover the whole field...sports bikes, cruisers, retros, off road, assesories, product reports, used bikes, just a little bit of everything. It's a tough market, but they are still the biggest bang for the buck if your tastes are broad like mine.Pete and John are dirt riders,if they keep their hands on it they may have to steer it more dirt for their own tastes.

Jim2 - I think that Glen got the extra points on the Grand Challenge.

Subscribing is the only way to get this mag on a consistent basis.

Thanks FF (and others).

I've actually done a couple of other articles in earlier BRM's (b4 I was a KBer).

When we finally meet up for that ride, Mrs Hitcher will have to try sitting on my Monster. It's 770 (I think from memory), but it's narrow, so it may be okay.

My Beemer has the low seat option, and it's for sale.........

I don't know Mrs H's history and what she likes to ride. Just for her info, if she is into sports bikes at all, and doesn't mind a little 400, I just scratch 5'3" and have just bought a CBR400 because i can actually get both feet flat on the ground (without boots even).

Good tip, thanks Draco. I'll pass that on. Mrs H is a bit of a cruiser girl at heart. I suspect there's an element of "wanting to because she can't" about the sportsbike thing.
