I have a '78 RD 250 E model. In the next year or so she'll need a top end rebuild and possibly some crank work done. Runs great as she is, just a bit rattly when cold. I'm not sure whether I should fork out the 1-1.5k to have the work done and keep it, or whether I should pass her on and go and find myself something faster (I really do want something faster... but I'm sentimental over this thing). Seeing as I've never seen another late model 250 up for sale on the tardme, I don't know how much it's actually worth. I've seen 350s and 400s go for silly prices, but how about a 250?

Hmmm, If a tidy original example I reckon it would be worth a bit. Lots of people aspired to start riding on a RD250. Many who did got spat off!

The difference between what you'll get between "Needing work done" ... and ... "No work to be done" ... will be more than the cost of the work done.
