The RF is making a funky noise from the front sprocket area. I just ordered new wheel bearings, new sprockets and started installing everything (the chain was in spec, just left that). All went well and the wheels are super quiet now but playing with the output shaft I can hear the output bearing sounds a bit rough; likely someone overtightened the chain before I bought it or something of the likes.
Does anyone know how it's kept in place before I go pulling things to bits? Circlip, machined groove that means splitting the lower, face plate.....something else? I'd prefer not to have to pull it out and what have you over christmas. Reading the GSF400 manual it looks kinda like a machined housing with wire retainer. Anyone can confirm it is an engine split job? It's just a bandit 400 motor so it's nothing special.
