Because Im now doing about 90% road riding and about 10% shingle Ive decided to change to something a bit more suitable. This means my trusty 09 DR650 will be up for sale after new year. Its done approx. 40,000 Kms and is mechanically in top condition. How hard has it been ridden? the original chain was replaced at 37,000 kms with a small amount of wear on the front sprocket and no noticeable wear on the back one, (They were replaced anyway with the new chain, another 525). Oil replaced every 5,000 kms. The following is what has been added to the bike and will go with it.
IMS Tank
Re Shaped and padded seat (Ive done 700 kms in a day with no probs)
Oil Filter magnet
Magnetic sump plug
Clymer service manual
Owners manual
Remote choke cable assy. (Not fitted) I replaced the stock one.
Billet choke cable fitting on carb (original is plastic)
Washable breather filter
Extended mixture screw (sooo much easier to use)
Case saver chain guard
New spare chain slider
Fork brace. (Not currently fitted)
Locking fuel cap
New Case Amour (Not fitted yet)
Centre Stand
Front fender Brace
Wolfman front fender bag
Mirror extenders
Pivot Pegs (awesome)
Tool Tube
Wolfman rear pannier racks
Wolfman rear expedition bags (yellow)
Fuel tank pannier bag
Trail tech 60mm LED Spots. (Bloody amazing)
H.I.D. Headlight kit. Made a big difference compared to stock then the spots made its beam look pathetic so removed it.
Trail tech Vapour speedo assy and dashboard.
H.D.B. mounting bracket for Vapour unit and relocated after market key switch
B+B Bash plate and rear carrier.
Heated Grips
Renthal Bars
Barkbuster guards and shields.
Heavy duty plastic case mounted on rear.
14 Tooth front sprocket. (15 tooth fitted)
Comes with all original bits and hardware that have been removed.
Suzuki reckons if it was stock its worth approx. $5,000 and its got approx $2,800 of extras on less freight so Im putting $6,800 on it.
Will have new WOF and Reg is good till 04/03/15
PM me if interested or for any more info.

Because Im now doing about 90% road riding and about 10% shingle

Change the tyres perhaps to a more road bias, or is there something else?
Have you put on so much weight you can't pillion anymore? :)
Good luck with the sale....

It just so happens that when I PM'ed a certain fellow asking about if any were for sale, he said nope! But would keep a gander out for one.
Then, two in one week! Geez!

I have now acquainted myself with a DL1000, so the DR800 is for the rough stuff, the Strom for the sedate and the KTM LC4 400 for mud I spose? and perving at in the garage.

All the best....:drinknsin

Decided to move it along while its still in great condition. Just not up to wrestling with a bigger bike anymore in the rough stuff. A wee Strom will probably take its place which is more than happy on shingle with decent tyres. Ive got my XR200 which I take off road as such, spent a couple of hrs today on tracks and river beaches. A Strom and an XR would suit me fine.

No excuse needed to buy new toys, just sell it and get what you want :)

Your DR is mint. Someone’s going to get a bargain.

Bloody hard to price with the dealers adding aftermarket bits on now for standard price, its driving the used market down, good for the buyers though. I see the KLR is now the same price as the DR new so that will hurt DR sales a bit.
