I'm eating humble pie. After throwing my toys out the pram five years ago, pissing off after one race and saying I'd never come back to such a shitty event, I erm....went back. Wanganui 2014 to Wanganui 2009 was as different as night and day. The track safety was vastly improved, the PA system was crystal clear, the 5 min/2min/final calls were accurate (and informative about "pick ups") and the massive sun shades over the dummy grid were an absolute godsend. I (and everyone I met) had a bloody ball.

Now the whine.....why do I have to wait another 12 months to go back?

Thank you Wanganui Organisers!!!!

[SIZE=5] Wanganui 2014 to Wanganui 2009 was as different as night and day.

Thank you Wanganui Organisers!!!! i followed that thread you talked about and while there were some valid issues the majority of it was your frame of mind at the time to be fair.
Glad you dragged your arse back there and good that you enjoyed yourself, and made the effort to post like you have.
Bet there won't be as many pages to this thread as the other though.
well done

2009 was the crappiest one I had been to, huge delays for one reason or another and no PA system notification so you'd turn up on the grid and wait for ages, it wasn't much to do with his frame of mind

2014 in comparison was the best, It just seemed so much smoother than any other event i have been to there and any delay (and I was one of them) and it came over the PA system so once you were on the dummy grid it wasn't long before you went out

Dummy grid tents could do with being twice as long though

I might have to try it again next year just to see if I can finally make it through a qualifying session:facepalm:

And if I hadn't been in the organisers ear, face & what have you with all the reasons why to have ezy ups at the dummy grid from a competitors point of view, you would have been in the sun the same as all the other years. They weren't to park your sidecar in ya muppet, they were to stand in.

Fuck, people really are retarded aren't they. Is a sidecar going to get all hot & sweaty, loose concentration & crash from dehydration & heat exhaustion?

Funny you should say that because I'm pretty sure that's what happened to mine

Good onya mate,

For recognising the efforts put in by Flea and his team at Cemetery circuit in listening to the complaints and acting on them to improve things, I can tell you, After 3 years organising the sport for the whole country, As an organiser you feckin sick of hearing the 'Poor me" stories from a bunch of wannabee's who do nothing to improve their lot, Other than whinge that is, It's nice to get the odd pat on the back and I'm sure Flea and co will appreciate your comments and good effort to all who supported the series, I can see the time where it is the biggest series in the country AND not too far away from what Ive heard.
