My fairings are all shit now that I've crashed and back end needs repairing or straightening. Called a wrecker to see how much $$$ i could get for it but i think its not good price for me to sell. So i'm going to repairing but can't seem to find fairings for a Suzuki GSX 250 in good or excellent condition. Can you put other Suzuki bike fairing on a Suzuki GSX? If anyone willing to buy a Suzuki gsx 250 then message me back with a good price. Thanks

What we have here is a motivated seller. First time poster. No millage history or pictures of said bike that may or may not have a bent frame but some or all fairings are damaged. The price offered so far is not known, as is the price the bike would be sold for. This bike may still run or might not. It might be registered and have WOF.
Akzle is prepared to take a big punt for $5.00 but wont risk any chips on this one.
When OP returns and says offers over $1500.00 we will need move the thread to the optimistic sellers thread.

done 27100kms and Wof 2015 on the 5 month and rego 12/3/15. And a bit over half tank of gas. Starts every time, tires (demons) done 5000kms, tachometer had looked at, is faulty it sometimes goes on when your driving. Chain and sprockets done same time as tires (5000kms) ago. Oil done by me 3000kms ago. Two small dents in tank, needs a new seat, left footpeg is missing.

If you get the bike for $5 and a pack of chips you can drain the gas and put it a bike that runs.
Makes the bike free. Free bike with a tank of gas.

Have a hunt online for some el cheapo Chinese fairings man. Might be something out there. Maybe try a forum that's specifically for those 250s or Suzuki sports bikes in general if you don't have any luck on the google.

*half a tank.
Mind you, if you are putting it into a smaller tank than the original you could probably stretch it out to being a full tank, and therefore a better deal.

Going by the pic's in post #20 in this thread ... the jokes on you.
The cost to replace broken plastic is worth more than the bike is worth.
Plus the cost of fixing/replacing bent/broken chassis/frame parts ... which you have not listed.
Without such a list ... a very (possibly) expensive gamble is taken.
For a 10 year old 250 ... hardly worth the risk.
My opinion .... but good luck with the sale ... :shifty:

Sad but true, $850 is pretty decent offer. I once had a 125cc scooter I crashed it and bent forks. Had no insurance back then so my choices were to keep the metal heap, sell it or fix it (fixing cost over $4k quoted price from Colemans Suzuki). Best offer the wrecker could offer was $300, so I had to take it.

I cant see wrecker being interested unless has a buyer lined up to take engine package. Even then engine package is worth 800 odd max and then theres not much left that's quick to sell.
All the bits that get good fast sales to bulk up the wreckers returns are destroyed.
Not only is the bike crashed and not economic to repair its presented as being neglected prior, eg rear tyre.

Just a pity he didn't have insurance ...
Not sure ill get full insurance on café racer even though it owes me 5grand.
But saying that idd just rebuild it if own fault accident or put the surviving pieces on another k100 café project bike.
I wouldn't run my primary bike around without full cover though.
I know the OP is after as much return as possible but theres not enough bike to get good money. Best offer will come from someone wanting to repower their blown motor tidy gsx with this bike as donor but even then 800 would be a max sale.
haydes55
1st January 2015, 09:04
A mint condition, not crashed one would be worth $2,500 .... An offer of almost half from a wreckers is good money for a potentially fucked beyond economic repair bike.
If you want more for it, fix it yourself, get it road worthy, then sell it for $1,500... But I'm sure it would cost you more than $800 to get everything road worthy. So again your best bet is to sell to the wrecker who offered you good money for it, then buy a different bike. You were uninsured, you binned it, you're taking the financial burden.

I would not be so quick to cash the bike in as you have to also consider how much it ill cost to buy another bike.
Take a look around me of the US forums for links to aftermarket fairings (eBay sellers mainly). The really cheap Chinese fairings may not be perfect but they are cheap. Some of these sellers may not list fairings for your bike but maybe able to get them if you ask.
If you go this route and do all for the work yourself including painting it might be viable if you want to keep the bike and ride it.

A good starting point may be "Aftermarket Fairings" or "Suzuki Bike Forum" or "GSX250 Forum" etc.
If you want to find a place to fix a frame, use your hoofs and talk to a couple of the workshops commonly found at bike dealers. They will know who is the go-to guy in your area. This however is one repair you don't want to shop around for the lowest price. You will most likely find all of the workshops in a given area use the same guy.
BTW, mossy1200's links to where you maybe able to get a replacement frame from most likely will be the cheapest option. From pics it's too difficult to access the work needed to the frame. Only a qualified person who actually examine the frame would know for sure.

Still thinking weather or not to buy a frame but then the cost to ship down from Invercargill to Tauranga. And finding fairing parts for suzuki gsx 250 2004 isn't easy to find either. Would you take the offer from the wrecker ($850) or fix the bike and spent more money and time?

Not trying to be a dick (it comes naturally), but based on the questions you are asking on here it seems like you dont have a lot of mechanical ability or posess the skills or desire to seek out those with the relevant skills in your local area.
Based on this alone I would be recomending that you take the offer from the wrecker, take the bath and walk away from the bike chalking it up as a life lesson,
UNLESS..............you have some desire, time, and money to get your hands dirty, learn a shit load and rebuild it how ever you want to. To do this you also have to accept that you will prob spend more than the bike is worth, you will still take a bath when you sell, and you would have learnt a shit load in the process. A whole diferent set of life lessons.
The choice yours.

Take 850 and get what you can afford when you can afford.
That's coming from someone that likes fixing things up also if that helps you decide. Its just a bad financial decision to repair a gsx250.
I would
Put 850 and the money you were going to fork out and put it towards new ninja 300 for $7500.00
Assuming I wanted a lams bike.

Of the two links given by mossy1200, this one (http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/motorbikes/parts-for-sale/wrecking-bikes/auction-827777396.htm) is a local trader for you - he's based in Tauranga and he says he's got two of them to part-out... if you want to repair / restore your bike he is your first port of call - go see him and chat to him.

Motorcycle ownership advise.
Irrespective of what you pay for your pride and joy, it's current value is zero dollars.
It isn't an investment, it's a liability.
When you view it this way, it's not so hard to be told that your pride and joy is someone else's worthless POS.
