Hello everyone!

I have been lurking for a while and wanted to say hello, as I hope I will meet some of you on rideouts and adventures over this summer. I am quite new to motorcycles. Have done a few thousand km between scooters and mopeds and a little on some 250s. Got my learners here a couple of weeks ago and plan to get my restricted by the end of this summer.

English is my second language. I am from Argentina, but I used to live in Auckland. Fell in love with the country and have been back many times since I left in 2009.

My plan for this trip is to get all my gear and bike, ride it all summer and learn as much as I can. Have been looking at GN250s as they seem easy to get rid of, but my heart is with a couple KLR650s I have seen. Still deciding.

My base will be in Omokoroa, close to Tauranga, but I have many trips planned around the North Island. Any members in Tauranga? Adventure riders, maybe?

Thanks for all the information shared here! Hope I can contribute soon.

EDIT: I do not have experience riding motorcycles in Argentina, but I know the roads and the country. So if I can help anyone planning a trip there, let me know!

Thank you Akzle. I hope to get to the East Cape as well and do a little tour. I loved doing a road trip around there in 2008 and I am very keen to go back.

Welcome.:niceone:
Did my beekeeping studies in Tauranga many years ago, real nice area. I would stay away from a GN if you are planning on any sort of distance riding.

KLRs are cool - easy to get along with, will go most places and better still will get you back afterwards.
