Well................ Tony & Kick ---------> :finger: :finger: one for the both of ya's and this one is a spear for later ----> :motu:

The Rally
Set off earlyish with Rashika into wet and crappy conditions and yes the bike ended up fucking dirty. :crybaby:
We headed inland from Rakaia and sat the long straights out in the rain, comming up to the single bridge just before Geraldine I stoped to let waiting traffic through, bridge clear so on we went... well as usual a fuk wit in a cage decided to take us on we were already 1/3 of the way across the bridge... well fuk the prick i slowed and just stoped and held my ground... the cage stoped infrount of me, so I pulled up beside him and pounded on his window.... to my suprise he wound it down and said "theres room for both of us on this bridge... move over" well....... the Ginger in me came out then and i gave him a bloody earfull, I heard Rashika yelling from behind me and I was thinking that I was embarrassing her and she was telling me to pull my head in.... so i figgered that the traffic was building up at both ends (get this trafffic was still flowing on from both ends) and every one looking well fuked up so I hammered it out a there.... but Rashika told me later that she was giving Mr FW a piece of her mind too :niceone:

Weather picked up from Geraldine and we had a sweet ride the rest of the way.
The V11 is a magic bike to ride I felt right at home on it the fairing working bloody well.... duno how Guzzi fluked that one :headbang:

Spent the weekend at the Cromwell tatoo show and ran into a few of our club members on the way home along with their Guzzie friends (guessing about 60 bikes +) filling up at Omarma.
Jim said that they where heading off for a ride to Wanaka, so I warned them about the several H/P, 2 muffi cars + the speed camera van working the Lindas Pass, Omarma area.

I now have a nervous wait to see what the post will deliever in the next week or two after shooting pass the van (hidden until right beside it) at a speed I can not mention on-line. :argh:

Well me an Mrs oldrider called into the local pub to look around and see if we could spot any KBr's among the Guzzi people. Couldn't spot any but had a yarn to a few Guzzi folk, good sorts among them too. Spotted Vicky (Paul in NZ) so we joined them while they had dinner. Most of the bikes then came back from their run down to Garston. We had to leave to go and check our daughters horse and other pets as they are out of town but we are going to ride over to Haast with Paul and Vicky tomorrow on their way home. Nice to have all the bikes in town, there were other makes around as well.
Sorry we didn't actually meet some more KBr's :spudwhat:
Thems the breaks I guess. :spudwave: Cheers John.

Well after reading above posts I went back to the pub feeling confident that there were more KiwiBikers there after all.
Imagine this, 200 odd yauchties and bikers and holiday makers all crammed in the bar with loud music etc blaring. One old deaf bugger asking around for some one he doesn't know, doesn't know their name and doesn't know what they look like. Visualise the response!! Well as it happens I found 2 old lost friends one of which I thought had been killed in a crash a while back and behold I found a kiwi biker! This guy overhears my weird questions to the guy next to him and thought it was funny until the other guy asked me how I new these people. I said they were on the Kiwi Biker forum. Bingo the guy listening was Skyrider. Yes KBr's do exist after all. We had a good yarn and a couple of beers and he told me that most of the others had gone back to Chistchurch. Well persistence pays off but it's hard when you only know that some one exists because they have a nomdeplume on an internet forum that not everyone knows about.
Have to go now we riding over to Haast with Paul and Vicky of NZ today. Cheers John. :spudwave:

And a bloody good ride it was too John. That transalp hums along in grand style...

The Mk2's full load and (um) 'basic' suspension found the road quite choppy so we felt kinda weary by the time we got to Franz Joseph (sp?) but we were thrilled to get such a brilliant day and such fine company for the ride. Many thanks...

I must have travelled through the Haast a dozen times and I can't ever remember such a warm day at this time of year? Maybe I've just been unlucky up till now?

Cheers

I take it you must be home again Paul.
Yes it really was a nice day and a good ride. We got home about 7pm.
We are down at our son's place at Athol, came down on the bike yesterday to babysit tonight.
We are going for a ride over to Milford Sound and back on Monday.
Had a fantastic ride down on Friday weather was great, saw quite a few bikes and would you believe it, we just keep on running into Guzzi owners!
It's amazing we were only really "aware" of Guzzi's before the ride in at Otematata and now we both notice them everywhere.
We have never been to a "Brand" event before and we were taken with the friendlyness of the riders at the Otematata ride in!
Maybe it's our attitude that has changed toward them!
We only went over to meet you and to look up any other Kiwi Bikers that we knew were going to be there. (Must get a KB Jacket patch thingy)
Thanks very much for the enjoyable day and ride on Monday, regards to vicky.
Cheers Pip and John.

:sunny: Heey!
We are back home after 3700kms of wicked fun and hard core Guzzi touring.
So nice to meet you Paul and Dangerous.
Our time at the rally was brief but good.
I kind of got the pip about our booking falling through so we only stayed one night in a manky room above the public bar...
The weather was primo, almost as good as the mighty Auckland, but colder.
The bike went well, and every tank of gas, it went better as it got run in.
After 10 days on the road my lady and I did go a little mad, but thats fun too
