Right thought I'd start the thread of this time.
As we know for those that follow our dumbass antics down here Kickaha has blowen his 2nd motor up in as many meets, actually he managed 2 bikes in one meet, his and a borrowed bike.
well these bikes were all Suzuki so after he rooted the last one we was put onto a Honda 125s and unbelivable he dident munt that bike.... so I'm thinking as he has ran out of Suzuki engines at his joint I'd offer him my new MT100mb.
Now I was the only twit daft enough to ride it in the bears meet last w/e after all it hadent ran for 4yrs and the tyres were 15yrs old..... but hey it went like a haunted shit house and thats a good thing :devil2:
Kickaha said sweet but.... it needs some work so he borrowed a 17" rim and slick for the frount and Diesel Pig gave him a beter 18' treaded tyre for the rear.... a few we minor things and its a goer.
However "green" fuk that I wanted to do a 'dangerous' job on it hell Hondas arnt green
So what you see below is the new straight out of a can racey silver over red.... dont it look grand, Kickaha dont mess it up, and please FFS dont blow the bloody motor its a real gem that one.
KBer's to attend should be Diesel Pig, Nipper, Bren_chch, TonyB and K14.... lets see what damage we can do this time round lads :spudflip: also our resadent KB photographer Rashika should hve the pics up with the after math write up courtesy of Kickaha

After fucking yet another motor I really couldn’t be bothered building another one during the week so I was going to give this round a miss and then Dangerous offered me the MT to ride, having checked it out at Ruapuna I wasn’t that keen but after Brent said he wasn’t going and I could borrow his front wheel with a slick on it I was slightly more enthusiastic, I checked the rear Michelin slick and found the serial which confirmed it was made in 1987 and thought, that was a recipe for a high side and the potential for injury was quite high
I wandered off to Diesel Pig’s place and he dug out a 18 inch rear of slightly younger vintage, so I took it to work and fitted it up, about lunchtime I decided I’d had enough of working for a living and buggered off to Dangerous place and fitted it in the bike and gave it a quick check over, Dangerous was busy fucking about painting it and having a real problem deciding on the colour scheme, having gone from green to silver and then changing his mind yet again and then finally settling on a red and silver and for a bit of extra wank painting the pipe as well :tugger:
Packed up the gear and was good to go, with a 6.00am start and having to pick up two bikes and TonyB on the way I should have been getting an early night, but as usual played around on the net until 10.45, now wether it was the thought of riding the MT or the anticipation of the grievous bodily harm I thought it might inflict on me I didn’t sleep particularly well and was up before 5.00am showered and tossed the gear in the ute and was good to go, shot off to Dangerous place and picked up TonyB , as we’re loading up Diesel Pig comes past and gives us a wave and a few minutes later we’re on the way and a couple of hours later we’re pulling into the track
I manage to cut myself twice while cutting some numbers out of tape for the borrowed bike and bleed a bit over them :doctor: , K14 is fixing his rear brake which Diesel Pig rooted at the last meeting buy trying to use it after the torque arm had fallen off but that done and all the usual formalities observed, riders briefing comes and goes and we’re called up for practice
Sitting on the dummy grid and I glance across at K14s bike, I then reach across and unscrew the sprocket cover bolt and hand it to him, he looks down and notices the other one loose so unscrews it and dumps the sprocket cover on the side of the dummy grid as we go out
First impression are that the bike is fast, I tag along behind Dangerous and K14 and can pull out and pass them with ease but I’m a bit more gentle into the corners especially as I dig the chamber in at the hairpin on lap one but we chase each other around for a few laps, I crank into the decreasing radius and as I flip to the right K14 is trying to stick it up the inside and gets caught out, he still makes the pass but does it by bouncing over the ripple strip and scaring me sufficiently that I let him through, Dangerous is just about falling off his bike laughing at K14s antics and before we know it practice is over
Race1
TonyB gets a good start and I’m doing ok as well, I’m still taking it gently and Diesel Pig rides around me at the decreasing radius, Dangerous and K14 pass me down the straight, the bike start dying occasionally and although it feels like a fuel problem I’m wondering if it’s nipping up, I crank it into the right hander and smack the pipe into the ripple strip and feel the rear slide but on the positive side I‘ve just increased my cornering clearance by flattening the pipe, I notice TonyB standing at the flag marshal point before the chicane and as it turns out due to his shoddy preparation his gear lever had fallen off although perhaps in his desperation to stay in front of K14 he’d decided to shed some weight and intimidate him by throwing it at him, Cotton as usual is fastest bucket and I’m lagging a bit far behind to see if K14 or Dangerous comes out quickest
Race2
We pull the head and check that it hasn’t nipped up and then play with the carb float level and I change the gearing before going back out TonyB gets another good start but Diesel pig leads us onto the straight and then Cotton blows past and goes after him, after an average start I’m slowly reeling them in when Diesel Pig puts his hand up and pulls off the track, Cotton slows down to play and having learnt a few lessons from his cock up last time makes sure he knows what lap the flags coming out to make sure he’s in front over the line, I hammer it into the chicane a lap before the end and have another bad moment when the pipe decks out again with Bren_chch saying he could hear it digging in from the spectator bank, so I finish second bucket with the rest trailing somewhere behind me
Race3 (sort of)
Dangerous is just about in tears :crybaby: after I spill fuel on his new paint due to K14 supplying me with a dodgy funnel to top up the tank and as we gear up for race 3 my usual race day gremlins strike again :angry2: and the bike wont go, as I wander up to watch I notice TonyB has fallen on his head at the hairpin after loosing the front in a desperate attempt too stay in front of Dangerous after his tactic of banging into him hadn’t worked, with myself not starting and TonyB falling off Dangerous manages a career best of 2nd (only way he’ll ever get that high really) :second:
We pull the plug out of the MT and crank it over and there’s fuel spewing out the plug hole a few revolutions and with no more coming out we attempt to fire it up again and it fires straight away, Dangerous for some strange reason attempts to stop the rear wheel spinning and it just about takes his hand off but it’s running sweet again after it‘s pumped a few litres of fuel out the exhaust pipe, a bit of fiddling by Wayne and Cotton and they set the carb back as it was to eliminate the flooding problem
Race 4
Dangerous reclaims the MT and I’m on his twin but it proves to be a bad choice for Dangerous as the MT dies at the decreasing radius on the warm up lap, Diesel Pig is on Cottons bike and Cotton is on K14s (he’s had enough as he’s riding two bikes) and TonyB is feeling left out as no one want to ride his (serves him right for crashing it) The organisers decide on a Le Mans start and because they have sense of humour they make us climb over the wall that divides the track, the flag drops we scramble up the wall run across the top and jump down the other side and we’re rooted before we even get across the track, I get across on the bike and are first Bucket off and hammering it, it’s not long before Diesel Pig and the RG150 lads start coming past, I slowly gain on Diesel Pig and get back in front only to have him come back past again, I’m having to roll off the throttle as the CB125T is under geared and I’m hitting the 12000rpm limit at 2/3 down the straight but I go off the end into the left hander with it pinned, I chase him around another lap and catch him through the right/left of the start finish I’m on the gas as early and hard as I dare onto the straight and pulling along side and past only to have him come back past around the outside at the hairpin, I glance behind and Cotton is coming to grips with K14s bike and slowly gaining on us after having a bit of a scare when he digs a peg in and slides the rear, but as I lead into the hairpin on the last lap and Diesel Pig doesn’t come past I know I’ve got him and lead him over the line by less than a bike length with Cotton not far behind and TonyB after getting his bike and gear rechecked also finishing
Another awesome days racing and isn’t that Dangerous a top bloke after knowing how many bikes I’ve managed to stuff lately letting and despite my continual slagging off of his love for Honda product :2thumbsup
errrrr I’m still not sure why Rashika had her head in his lap though when he pulled out and passed us on the way home and why he was giving us the thumbs up at the same time, he reckoned she was tying his shoelaces but I can’t work out why her head would be bobbing up and down while she did them up

Well I was guttered that I dident get to ride the MT but thats racing shitters for ya, it gave me the chance to sit mid field in the best part of the track and that was very interesting..... watching my bike leading cotton who is normaly looking so smooth on k14's shiter was looking rather worried stuffing the gear changes up sliding and digging it in.... but he was having a ball as were the other two guys, was bloody funny once again watching.... but Kick you were "hammering it" dident blow did it..... Honda mate remember that :bleh:
I manage to cut myself twice while cutting some numbers out of tape for the borrowed bike and bleed a bit over them :doctor: ,

What a day! After the last BEARS round at Ruapuna the bod was pretty sore on Monday. Took me until Tuesday to realise that I was actually crook. Barely had enough energy to go to work, let alone prep the bike. Went to see the Doc on Thursday and found I had a throat infection. Got some anitbiotics that night and by Friday night I was functioning well enough to be able to swap the rear sprocket for a smaller one to give taller gearing. And that was about all the prep I could manage. My son Zach kept us awake most of Friday night- HE has a chest infection- joy. So 4:45 Sat morning I gave up on sleep and shuffled out of bed to go racing. Can't say I was that keen....
The racing started just after Rolleston, and we arrived at Levels kinda early. Did some last minute prep on the bike, looked around at some of the veeeery nice gear on display, and realised that I had the shittiest bike there by a fair margin... oh well.
The practice was a bit demoralising. I had never ridden there before, so it was a bit of a voyage of discovery. Ended up MILES behind everyone else and was wondering why the fuck I hadn't just stayed in bed :crybaby:
Funny how things change when that green flag drops though. My bike has some bloody good speed off the line, so I seemed to get the best start, but Diesel Pig got by me easily at the firt chicane, and Darryl Cotton fairly flew past accelerating onto the main straight. Dangerous and K14 were somewhere just behind me, enjoying the heady smell of racing fuel and Mobil 1 2T. For a short while we had a great battle, with me doing everything I knew to keep them behind me. At one stage they tried to pass down both sides at once at the hair pin, but I held them off, rounded then next bend accelerated went to grab another gear..... went to grab another gear ..... I SAID WENT TO GRAB ANOTHER GEAR!!!! HEY!!! WHERE'S ME FUGGEN GEAR LEVER??? I pulled off the track and watched the fun from a marshals bunker. K14 saw where the gear lever went west and stopped to have a look but couldn't see it. So with an approx location pointed out I jooged over and found it no worries. The bolt was still in it, so technically it shouldn't have fallen off. Oh well.
Race two. The gear lever was now VERY firmly attached. Got another good start. This was basically a replay of the first with DP and Cotton getting past easily and then K14, Dangerous and me battling for position. Eventually we caught up with Nipper who is on the comeback after an injury layoff, with an instructor riding shotgun. At this stage I didn't know it was Nipper, I just thought it was a new rider to the class. I was infront (I think), I had a go at getting past but cocked it up so D and K14 got past me. D had one go and was then repassed on the straight. Then he got past and managed to stay there. K14 did the same and I got past on the second to last lap but the power of the 150 meant that I was inhaled and spat out on the straight. Desperate to get past (fuk knows why) I saw my oppertunity at the decreasing radius, I went outside the instructor on the left hander, and tried to go between them to take Nipper on the outside again for the right hander. But the instructor closed the door and it was all I could do to avoid knocking him off. Big cock up by Tony B. I got the finger for my troubles. Oops
Race 3. The start was pretty much identical to the others. Good start and then quickly dealt to by the fast boys. Again I had Dangerous chasing me (can't remember what happened to K14). I was determined to hold him out. We had a fantastic battle. I was using a very defensive line at the hairpin and he managed to get past, but my line allowed for a faster exit, and I was gaining real fast when he headed to the right to line up the left hander. I couldn't avoid him and we collided- gave the old bugger a hell of a fright and I think I slipped past. Then on the straight he got along side of me on the inside. For a laugh I tried to grab his arm to push myself back in front- didn't work. The left hand bend at the end of the straight was getting pretty close and I was thinking "fuck I hope he's not going to have a go", but he made the "after you sir" gesture so I barrelled through as fast as 16 year old tyres, stuffed suspension and massive frame flex would allow. I think D was impressed with the result. Eventually I came to greif at the hairpin. Not sure exactly what I did wrong, I think I just went that tiny bit faster and that was enough. On virtually every corner I had been dealing with little front and rear end slides, but this one was beyond my abilities to even react to, let alone correct. The bike went down, I let go and got clear as I always seem to. My hips, forearm and shoulder hit the ground hard, followed by an almighty WACK!! as my helmet smacked down on the pavement. Thought "glad that didn't happen on my road bike" and "Yay, got my first crash out of the way on the slowest corner" Slid for a bit the bike stopped. I didn't, slid into it without drama and then hopped up, picked the bike up and pushed it out of the way. I decided that as this was not a race for the world champs I would be better to check the bike out before re-joing. Only damage to the bike was a bent handle bar and forks twisted in the clamps. The visor took the impact, and the leathers took the impact very very well. The CE armour in them did an unbelievable job- I'm not in the least bit sore, even today.
Race 4 Lemans + mountain climb start. Some smart a-hole decided we should start on the other side of the tyre/ earth wall. So when the flag dropped we had to climb up, jump down a good metre drop, and then run across to push start the bike. Only I thought our helpers would push didn't I? Nope. Once I figured THAT out, I was well and truly dead last. Set off after Cotton on Kirks bike. Passed him at one stage before deciding that perhaps I should be listening to the tyres cries for help, so rather than have another off I slowed down and kept in on the island. Finished well back.
So all in all I had a bloody fantastic day. I found and went over the edge without hurting myself or the bike at all. Crash tested my leathers and found that they really are bloody good. Demonstated to D and K14 that I can push that poor little commuter bike along pretty bloody hard if I'm in the mood. Surprised myself actually.
Awesome photo's again Rashika :niceone: I see you also provided D with an excellent after race wind down on the way back too- best be careful doing that, don't want him falling asleep afterwards do we?
Let it be written; And verily, plans are afoot which will eliminate flexing of the frame, and the wobbilations of the swingarm. 17" wheels have I found which may be shod with slicks. And shocks have I being built which will stop the pogo-ing of the rear end. Faster shall I become. Much, much faster ( I hopeth)

Impressed... I was once again pissing myself, we did go in rather hot :wari: That was about the speed I had done every lap- maybe a teeny bit faster, so I guess that confirms the poor old girl didn't have much more to give with me piloting it.
