I don't know if it's just peculiar to Rotovagas but there seem to have been an awful lot of drivers stopping in the middle of the road. Lost, confused, drunk who knows but there seems to have been a plague of the fuckers recently. Even had one old daisy (probably younger than me) stopping at the traffic lights on a four lane road, the lights were green! Hate the buggers, and as for non use of indicators don't get me started, although I suppose if you don't know where you're going how can you indicate?.

I concur, seen a big outbreak of the new strand of the caged zombie virus.

It's below the speed limit, therefore it's safe.

Haast pass... Humming along happy as a clam enjoying the road on a super nice day and ogling natures bounty... One lane bridge - campervan dead stopped in the middle... erm.... no one in the drivers seat... Idiot was down below the bridge taking a picture of his van on the bridge ... I mean seriously....

I have had that happen on both the Gates of haast bridge and the pleasant flat bridge several times. Came round a blind corner just before paringa once and there was a campervan stopped in the middle of the road and a couple of indian tourists having a picnic on the side of the road.:brick:

 Hey, if you don't see another vehicle for aaaaaaayyyyyyyges on the road it is easy to believe you are the only one there. On the other hand some people are just rude pricks who can't see past their own immediate needs - "what oar-some scenery dude, my van will look so totally like cool with that backdrop".

Hey, I got shit for weeks about all the photos I took of my bike in front of various scenic locations on our last trip...(none stopped on a one lane bridge though :innocent: )

...hard to fathom that one eh...twice seen it on that stretch of road...I asked, sarcastically, how long some gherkins were going to be with their photo shoot and got a smile back and the answer of, 'just a few minutes'...:brick:

Yup - they are really lost in the moment.... Came across another one near that mirror lake on the coast reversing back around a corner to get that picture they missed.. That was quite exciting...

YEARS ago I was trundling through in my VW Kombi onto a long one way bridge. Young couple in a flash as Toyota SR Couple passed us just before the bridge (safely) and I could see another car coming down the hill on the approach to the bridge at a great rate of knots... The hoon swept up onto the bridge flat out - looked up and saw the Toyota already locked up desperately trying to stop and neither had anywhere to go - BLAM.....

I gave everyone a cuppa until the Rozzas turned up (they got one too) and helped tow the mess back off the bridge in reverse. Gave them a lift back to their campsite where they had a couple of trail bikes to get home on... They had to sit in the back with Rhubarb the dog in the munted old Kombi... (twisted so much the side doors would fly open...)
