Hi all - this is my first post.
I've got a beat-up Yamaha SR250. It's a 2005 model - made in Spain.
I changed out the rear stop light assembly, which used to have two bulbs, for a new one that has just one - with dual filaments.
It seemed to be a straightforward change out - all the wires seemed to be interchangeable with the old ones.
Trouble is, now only ONE of the filaments lights up. And then, when I hit the brake lever or foot brake, it glows a tiny (almost imperceptible) amount brighter. But not enough to let someone behind me know I am braking.
The second filament doesn't light up at all.
I've changed the bulb to no avail - same problem.
Was wondering if this is likely to be an issue with:
- The brake light switch
- My shitty wiring skills
- The indicator switch (I've been told this can cause issues, although it seems to be working fine)
- Something else I haven't thought of
Thanks
