Just started the process to become an immigrant to your beautiful country. By started I mean looking at job sites and houses (I know).

Any other forum members recent migrants on the forum that could help with advice, I'm an IT field engineer whatever that is?

Currently have two bikes. A kawasaki gpz750 and a honda cbf600. Have friends in NZ already but they're medics so not much help on the job front as I understand you need an in demand skill or a job offer to move.

Any help gratefully received.

Have a great day on the bike, too icy here in cold snowy UK at present to get out.

I came here nearly twenty years ago. My only advice is not to take any advice, do your own thing and find your own way. And for fucks sake get out of the main centres otherwise you might as well stay in the UK.

Sadly that's true
I came here 5 years ago, work in Auckland, live in Stanmore Bay but the traffic is shit, just as bad as the UK. Aim to be just about anywhere other than Auckland, could also help with your application as they used to add points if you settled in other areas.
Assuming the system still works the same way you will need to put in an EOI(expression of interest), get selected if you have enough points (determined on job, age and shortage of your particular skills), then you will be sent a bloody great pile of forms to complete which will allow you to prove what you said on your EOI, plus medical and police checks, send that lot back and wait.
I know the system now has a lot of emphasis on securing a job before you get here, bit of a catch 22 but it can be done.
Best thing is to go to NZ House in London and have a chat, very friendly and extremely helpful people and as already said do it yourself, its not hard and the fees charged by immigration agencies can make your eyes water

Good luck

Thanks for that guys I'll have a look round the nz gov site and see what's what.

Job site wise what would you recommend? I've been told indeed but are there other food local sites?

You might want to give the Tapatalk a miss, as you need to prove that you can speak english, and that post, well....

Good luck!

Thanks for the job sites too. I've registered now.
