Why do I get a notification "threat has been detected" every time I log on to Kiwi Biker?:(

This only started a couple of weeks back .....

Any ideas?

I use Avast and don't have any problems. What browser are you using?

It's a typo, should say "thread has been detected" with the addition of ''but the boredom continues''.

Because avast is terrible at giving false positives. Even if you are the developer and submit to them a copy of your script to prove that it is not malicious, they wont fix it so that it doesnt give these stupid messages. As far as AV goes, even microsoft security essentials is better (for free)

firefox 35.0

I just tried with FF35.0 and can't replicate your problem. I'm using Win7, so unless you are using a different operating system I suspect it's to do with your Avast settings.

I've used Avast for a long time, and I've found it very good, with no noticable false positives. I'm not an IT professional though, so iYRe might have a better perspective. Compared to the mainstream brands of anti-virus software like AVG, Norton, etc. Avast feels more robust, and you can get rid of it if you want (unlike some of those others that make it nearly impossible to install).

I must say that Avast has started to feel more junky over the last couple of years, but still seems to do what it's meant to.

the 'infection blocked' notification is giving the URL as

http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/misc.php?v=4111&js and the actual infection as
HTML:RedirDL-inf [Trj]

Oh yep, that page brings up a warning for me too.

I had a look on the redirect detector though (http://redirectdetective.com/) and it shows the link as clean, as does Virustotal (https://www.virustotal.com/en/url/70f9752f2e13ae36f30bd6f434bc5fec92e91d6fb0b6f232c0 c405ff1af842f4/analysis/1422226419/).

You could submit a support ticket to Avast, but suspect it may just be a false-positive as suggested earlier. Perhaps try entering KB fresh from the homepage, and see if the issue persists as it's obviously that specific page causing the issues.

Other than that have to pass on to more knowledgeable KB nerds.
