Hi all. This has been doing my head in so thought i'd see if anyone has any ideas
I've just bought a Suzuki SJ50 2005 scooter with about 15k on it. Rode it home and was running pretty rough, one minute had power next minute didn't.
I assumed it was the carb, so pulled it apart and gave it a clean although it looked pretty clean already. Upon putting it back together, it will idle fine but will die as soon as given some throttle.
I've pulled it apart and given it another clean to no avail, have checked the petcock by sucking on one tube and fuel flowed fine from the other.
Have tried without exhaust and is no better.
Ive pulled fuel tank out cleaned it out and put in fresh fuel and still no help
I've found if i spray carb cleaner into the air intake and rev it, it will rev right up, which has lead me to believe it has an air leak somewhere causing it to run lean.
I haven't been able to locate the air leak at all by spraying carb cleaner on all joints and tried soapy water too.
Sorry for the long post, i'm hoping someone can shed some light on anything else i could try.
It has a aftermarket cdi, pod filter and jet has been changed to an 88
Cheers!
