Sealant to handle brake fluid?

Replacing a cracked sight glass on a clutch master cylinder, what sealant is gonna hold up against the brake fluid?

If the rubber is in good nick you shouldn't need any....use rubbergrease/brake caliper grease to lube the rubber to ease it back into place.

The only sealant I've ever found to stand up to alky fuel - not dissimilar to your prob - was Loctite master gasket.

From memory its Loctite 592.

Aint no rubber there, twas just a piece of plastic glued into a hole... Problem I'm having is said piece of plastic now has a hole in it

Mate of mine had the same problem, covered it over with JBweld, didn't leak but obviously couldn't see through it any more. Works if you don't mind taking the top off to check the level.

How long ago was that? is it still holding?
I haven't been able to see into it for the past 3yrs, it's been yellowed & cracked to shit the past 6mths I've been covering the face with grey RTV silicone &/ epoxy... so vision isn't important to me especially on the clutch side
I might try & have it so I can see the brake one when I get round to replacing it but that hasn't failed... yet

What about bolt , nut and a couple of washers......?
knock out rest of plastic.
with or without a bit of rubber (old tube?) In between....

I went with a Permatex "cold wield" for the sealant 1c for the seal, it's holding for the moment so here's hoping it lasts.
I've also learnt I'm not a fan of having to bleed air outta lines

The "so far" comment was because I've only just put it back together tonight
Did the repair yesterday, cold wield takes 16hrs to cure so only just gone back together tonight everything's holding up for the mo, but then my "temp fix" with RTV silicone took 3 months to fail so I'll give it sometime before I call it a complete success

... tho I don't see any reason this should fail (unless brake fluid eats 1c coins)

There is a product called Q Bond which is basically a superglue with filler powder.
It kicks arse for this kind of oddball thing.
There are other Si,liar products but I can't remember what they're called
