View Full Version : Making a GSX250 Invader faster?

I'd like to make my 2003 suzuki gsx250 invader a bit faster. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated. There's no time limit, but I'm on a budget of some sorts(so no turbos haha) considering I'm still a student. I would get a bigger bike but I can't afford it at the moment. I'd like to make it a more exciting bike like my GT750 but with the great fuel consumption.

Sell it, buy something faster.
Easy as fuck.

Yes. unless OP wants to end up with something which either:
a) does not run; or
b) runs worse than he started; or
c) a pile of shit that used to be a functioning motorcycle.
Seriously: if you want to fuck about with it, turn it into a project that's great, but make sure you have some reliable transport first. because being stranded because you fucked about with something hoping to improve it, sucks. Dont get me wrong you might be the next Erv Kanemoto or Pops Yoshimura (in which case let me know when I can buy shares in the startup) but they all commuted to work on the equivalent of the InaZOOMER and made stuff go faster there.

Sound advice. I turned my old 1300cc Nissan into an on again/off again project/mode of transportation but it only caused me headaches.
Enjoy the ride for now imo. Not worth tinkering with 250s if you're after power - it's just not there compared to higher displacement bikes. Especially if you're a student - I couldn't imagine dropping money on modifying a bike like that whilst paying for my studies. My 2c.

Not going to happen - you make it faster you increase the fuel consumption ...

The selling it idea is your best bet.

Buy a bungie cord. Attach one end to the Invader and the other to your choice of high-performance vehicle. Enjoy.

There was a written off zx14r on tardme that sold cheap. You could have done a transplant.
Idd have given you some petrol vouchers for the ohlins shock that it had.

Perhaps a rider training / track day instruction and RIDE faster.

The gsx250 is not fast, however balance the carbs and a clean filter helps.
as for the diet, the exhausts weight a tonne. just on a side note the gs500
frame is used by the gsx250 so there is the option of engine swaps.

Heres a link to a thread from ages ago. We managed to make our one a lot better. It has been replaced by a 675 Daytona for years now, but the mods were great at the time.

Cheers for your opinions. Might just save for a bigger bike.
