I'm doing a clear out of my bike cupboard in the garage and am willing to part with the following if someone can spin a good yarn to explain why they need them.

1) Sidi Vetebra boots, black/yellow, size 44. Worn for about 4 years. Nothing wrog with them but I got some new boots 18 months ago and haven't worn these ones since. May as well clear some space up. Average condition considering age. A decent clean would have them looking better than in the photo. I've taken the top scuff pads off as they were uncomfortable when touring. They are probably in the garage somewhere but I may not have them.

2) Armour. Brand new. I've use the elbow bits for a couple of months under a jacket but that's about it. The knee and shoulder bits haven't been used.

3) Knox 2000 back protector. LIke the boots used for a few years and been in storage ever since. It's a full length protector so if you're vertically challanged then it may not fit. Also if you're a skinny runt you may need to "adjust" the velcro a little to tighen it up.

Edit: pictures added

Edit2: The boots are race boots so aren't waterproof. They stop the odd shower or light rain but if it pours you're getting wet feet.

pm sent about the back protector... :not:

Not sucking up, but I think its great you are giving some of us who can't afford the extra (besides essentials) gear a chance to protect ourselves. :first:

Not intentional as such, I replaced most of my gear 18 months ago and kept some of this "in-case". I haven't used it since so figure someone else might make better use of it.

Just PM'd you about the armour.

I like the boots but they are a few sizes too big so probably no good for me.

Cheers

Kevin

Give this guy some bling. Completely selfless. A rare find these days. He didn't even want me to pay postage when I offered.

Weeeee a back protector for me!!! :niceone:

hmm, opposite for me, 2-3 sizes too small.

Being big is very helpful on occasions, but trying to fit onto m'bikes and getting gear that fits is not easy...

Thanks heaps for the armour dude, building up your first set of gear is a pretty expensive experience, as I'm sure everyone here knows.

I second Gremlins comments about your being a rare person. Your kindness is greatly appreciated.

If we ever meet up I'll have to buy you a pint (or two ... or more :apint:!)

Thanks again,
Kevin

I'm a night owl. Don't know when to go to sleep. Having said that I can fall asleep at the drop of a hat. Anytime, anywhere. Comes in very handy sometimes.

P.S: what are "scuff pads?"

Have a look at the photo. Not sure if I'll be able to find them or not. If you look at my photo you can see the bit where they screw into.

Yes, I certainly agree with the comments you guys have made about matthewt - he is one of the kindest and most generous people I know.

He is one of the real "good guys" in the world.

(Note: this is not a piss-take, this is a sincere comment from the heart.)

Pity I'm driving to Napier this weekend and not riding. Otherwise I could give you the MV (for a few hours anyway).

what a good cunt! back protector would of been mint, spose it wont save you if you do come off bad though. i guess its just another safety feature that tricks your brain, like leather pants, i reckon i ride safer wearing jeans. an no gloves, jacket or shoes.

What the heck back protecters save you tons They take most of the impact away from your spine yeah you may survive without one but your going to be in a wheelchair and leather pants save you more than jeans ask that 125 GP guy who hit the other guy at over 140ks he slid on his ass but got up probably sore but nothng major if he did that in jeans there would be blood everywhere and the guy would have no legs today
